  • Patent number: 4823947
Abstract: A device for packaging, collecting, storing and disposing of oil and other products comprising a container having a large, sealable opening for collecting products, preferably liquids, on one side, and a smaller sealable opening for pouring products, preferably liquids, on another. The device is to be of sufficient size and shape to allow for placement under the machine from which liquid is collected. The collection opening is of sufficient size to allow relatively large objects, such as an oil filter, into the device without adding dirt to the exposed surfaces of the device. A filter may also be provided for in the region occupied by the collection opening so that liquids can be filtered as they enter the device. The collection opening may be internally sealed with a removable covering so that the container can be used for the distribution and sales of a liquid product contained therein.

  • Patent number: 4600125
Abstract: A convenient, spill-resistant and highly versatile pouring system for containerized liquids is disclosed. A primary funnel includes a container seating well having a built-in container piercing element. The primary funnel is inverted and placed over a liquid container or vice versa to carry out the piercing operation, following which the primary funnel and pierced container are in an upright position so that the reduced diameter pouring spout of the primary funnel can enter an aperture of a receiver of the liquid. Easily attachable secondary and tertiary pouring spout extensions allow pouring from the primary funnel into receivers having restricted openings and into receivers at relatively inaccessible locations. A convenient closure plug adapted to fit all pouring spouts of the system is provided. The secondary pouring spout can also be conveniently coupled with a standard size outlet of a bulk liquid storage container.

  • Patent number: 4583668
Abstract: A threaded elongated flexible pouring spout is detachably connectable with the threaded outlets of variously sized liquid containers by means of a multi-threaded adapter having threaded sleeve portions of different diameters, one of which at each end of the adapter is engageable with the threads of the flexible spout. A threaded extension cap for the flexible spout enables the servicing of small openings requiring liquids. The extension cap can also be threadedly engaged with the outlets of certain containers.

  • Patent number: 4426027
Abstract: A simpler, more efficient and convenient, flexible pouring spout for liquid containers has the ability to reach fill-points without employing a funnel. The spout, when inverted, stores easily within the container and is effectively sealed with the container neck in both the pouring and stored positions. A single threaded cover cap can engage threads on either end of the pouring spout to prevent leakage.

  • Patent number: 4351454
Abstract: A unitary liquid container formed of molded plastics material has a flexible filling and pouring nozzle of sufficient size to be self-venting. The top of the nozzle, when in an upright position, coacts with a top surface on the container lifting handle to form a level stacking surface. A manipulating recess is provided near the bottom of the container.

  • Patent number: 4267945
Abstract: A piercing and pouring device for metal or paper containers of motor oil or the like comprising a funnel with the tip of a container piercing blade vertically positioned on an element releasably secured within the funnel. The funnel has a cylindrical container receiving portion with a depending, tapering, pouring spout integrally connected thereto, the spout being flexible along a portion of its length. The piercing point of the blade engages the top of a container as it is telescopically positioned within the receiving portion of the device so that the liquid therein is dispensed through the spout.

  • Patent number: 4150768
Abstract: A unitary piercing and pouring device for metal or paper containers of motor oil and like liquids embodies a skirted cover of somewhat resilient plastics material. The skirt portion of the cover has indentations carrying lugs on their interior sides for snapping engagement over the top bead of a container so that such bead is locked between the lugs and cover top wall. A piercing blade has teeth embedded into the pouring nozzle or spout and the blade includes elements which secure a sealing gasket against the cover top wall.
