  • Patent number: 6622780
Abstract: In order to regenerate the heat exchanger material located in the various segments of a housing section (2) of a regenerative post-combustion device (1), air is heated in the combustion chamber (8) of this post-combustion device (1) by a burner (9), is directly removed from the combustion chamber (8), is adjusted to the desired regeneration air temperature using fresh air, and is returned to the inlet (4) of the thermal post-combustion device (1). The outlet (10) of the thermal post-combustion device (1) remains closed during this operation. The rotary distributor (5) of the thermal post-combustion device (1) rotates during this process which is continued until all segments of the heat exchanger material are heated to a temperature at which the contaminants absorbed by the heat exchanger materials are released and combusted in the combustion chamber (8).

  • Patent number: 6612833
Abstract: A regenerative post-combustion apparatus (1) in a housing (2) in a known manner comprises from top to bottom a combustion chamber (8), a heat exchanger area (7) subdivided into a plurality of segments filled with heat exchanger material, and a rotating distributor (5). The latter depending on its rotational position establishes a connection, on the one hand, between an inlet (3) for waste gas to be cleaned and at least one first segment of the heat exchanger area (7), as well as between at least one second segment of the heat exchanger area (7) and an outlet (10) for cleaned gas. Disposed above the rotating distributor (5) is a burn-out rotary slide valve (31). The latter is subdivided by dividing walls into segments, of which one is closed in the direction of the rotating distributor (5) and communicates with an outlet (68). The other segments of the burn-out rotary slide valve (31) are open in a downward and an upward direction.

  • Patent number: 6589315
Abstract: In order to regenerate the heat exchanger material located in the various segments of a housing section (2) of a regenerative post-combustion device (1), fresh air is fed via the flushing air connection (11) into the combustion chamber (8) of this post-combustion device (1), is heated there by a burner (9), and is fed to the rotary distributor (5) via a segment of the heat exchanger material. Heated air which, when passing through the heat exchanger material has picked up contaminants deposited thereon is fed to the inlet or outlet connection (4, 10) of the post-combustion device (1) via the rotary distributor (5) and, from there, is introduced once again into the combustion chamber (8). The rotary distributor (5) of the thermal post-combustion device (1) stops during this process which is continued until the heat exchanger material is heated to a temperature at which the contaminants absorbed by the heat exchanger material are released and combusted in the combustion chamber (8).
