  • Patent number: 6730060
Abstract: An implantable device for administering a treatment solution has a first chamber for accommodating the active solution to be administered and a second chamber for accommodating a treatment solution bolus, each chamber having a port sealed with a septum. An infusion line leading to the infusion site is connected to the outlet of the first chamber. An inlet line branches off from the infusion line and is connected to the second chamber to accommodate the active solution bolus, and includes a flow device which releases the flow path to the infusion site only when the active solution bolus is supplied at a pressure above a predetermined minimum pressure. The occurrence of life-threatening situations due to sudden administration of a large quantity of active solution is prevented if the active solution is always supplied only at a pressure below the minimum pressure at which the flow path is released.

  • Patent number: 6542761
Abstract: A device for measuring parameters of medical fluids having a measurement chamber through which the fluid to be measured passes. The chamber is sealed on one side by a flexible membrane, and it also has a measurement plate that has a peripheral seal on its outer edge and is in contact with the flexible membrane. At least one sensor for measuring a parameter of the medical fluid is mounted on the measurement plate, and the measurement plate has a continuous inlet leading to the flexible membrane so that a vacuum can be established between the measurement plate and the flexible membrane.

  • Patent number: 5794669
Abstract: The invention concerns a bag to accommodate solid or fluid concentrate which is used to prepare dialysis fluid using a dialysis machine. The bag consists of a bag body and at least one opening, whereby the opening is sealingly surrounded by a plug component (220). In the coupled state with a second plug component (210), the plug component (220) forms a flow connection with the interior of the bag. The plug component also has coupling means (276, 278) which are suitable to be connected with a second complementary plug component (210), which is disposed on the dialysis machine. By means of the plug connector, in the coupled state, a first flow path is formed from the dialysis machine to the interior of the bag and a second flow path is formed back from the interior of the bag to the dialysis machine.

  • Patent number: 5614677
Abstract: Apparatus for measuring the pressure of a fluid includes a first pressure transmission element in form of a membrane in contact with a pressure sensor, and a second pressure transmission element in form of a membrane which is acted upon by a fluid whose pressure is to be determined. The first membrane has a peripheral area which is pressed against the second membrane in such a manner that the space between the first and second membranes is sealed off from outside and is of a size as small as possible. Both membranes thus move in synchronism in dependence of the fluid pressure so that positive as well as negative pressures can be measured.

  • Patent number: 5178179
Abstract: This invention relates to a pressure equalizing vessel for a hemodialysis concentrate. To ensure the supply of concentrate at a constant pressure to the concentrate pump for preparing dialysis fluid, even in cases where a central concentrate supply system is used, the present invention suggests that a cylindrical upright vessel 1 whose lower portion is provided with a concentrate inlet and whose upper portion has arranged thereon a venting means 4 should have inserted thereinto a concentrate suction tube 7 which is equipped with at least one level sensor (FIG. 1).
