  • Patent number: 11983276
Abstract: A communication system personality provisioning system includes a communication system included in a computing system and coupled to a management system. The communication system stores authentication information in a UEFI database of a UEFI system in the communication system. The communication system receives a first operating software image and application/service from the management system, authenticates the first operating software image and application/service via first secure initialization operations performed by the UEFI system using the authentication information and, in response, installs the first operating software image and application/service on the communication system.

  • Patent number: 10447761
Abstract: A method and system for capturing web content from a web server includes a capturing server establishing an active link between a client device and the capturing server that allows the client device to remotely control an active web browsing session, between the capturing server and the web server, to select web content. The method also includes establishing the active web browsing session between the capturing server and the web server using a web browser executing on the capturing server. The capturing server further receives the web content from the web server, without the web content being routed through the client device, and captures the web content during the active web browsing session as a set of images of the web browser. The set of images is captured to a non-volatile storage device, remote from the client device, for later retrieval on a future date.

  • Publication number: 20170211764
Abstract: Apparatus and methods to simulate current local outdoor lighting conditions, current lighting conditions of another location, or programmed outdoor lighting conditions are provided. The apparatus comprises at least one lighting device and one or more computers for controlling the lighting device, and may include one or more photosensors. The apparatus may resemble a window and may be installed on or in a building surface. The lighting device comprises one or multiple lighting elements to emit a spectrum of light, at variable brightness levels, to reproduce a range of outdoor light conditions. The apparatus may comprise elements to produce a directionality or diffuseness to the emitted light. One or more photosensors may sense outdoor lighting conditions, and transmit that information to the computer controlling the apparatus. The apparatus may be programmed without the photosensor, or be internet-connected to access programming or current lighting conditions of another location and/or time.

  • Publication number: 20070137683
Abstract: In its preferred embodiment, the fast-erecting portable structure principally comprises two or more flexible framing rods and a flexible skin. The flexible framing rods essentially form inverted u-shapes and the flexible skin hangs from the flexible framing rods in substantially a dome shape. More specifically, the flexible skin can be supported from the flexible framing rods by sleeves sewn into the flexible skin. The sleeves allow the flexible skin to slide along the length of the flexible framing rods. The flexible skin is also fixed (or non-removably) connected to the ends of the flexible framing rods. The fast-erecting portable structure can be stored by coiling the flexible framing rods into a storage bag. The fast-erecting portable structure allows the structure to be immediately erected from the coiled position in the storage bag into the structure without any intermediate steps or the addition or removal of any parts.

  • Patent number: 6983184
Abstract: A method modifying a particular electrophysiological feature generated in response to a stimulus is disclosed. The method involves a repeated process of: sampling the brain wave state in order to apply a modifying pulse; modifying the brain wave state to a state more conducive to a required response; sampling the brain wave state in order to apply a response stimulus; applying a stimulus only when the brain wave state substantially meets the preselected response criteria; recording the brain wave activity of the subject subsequent to the application of the stimulus.

  • Patent number: 6142297
Abstract: A device (30) and method for sanitizing, with a sanitizing medium (52), a thermometer (6) having a probe (16) with a predetermined probe diameter (18). The device consists of a tube (34) having an outer surface (38) and an open end (42) adapted to receive the probe, and a closed end (46) opposite the open end and defining a reservoir (50) for holding the sanitizing medium. The device further includes a cap (60) removably attached to the tube open end and having an upper surface (64) with a central aperture (78) designed to closely receive the probe. At least one wiping member (82) in the cap is capable of forcibly gripping the probe so as to seal the sanitizing medium within the tube and to slidingly engage the probe so as to wipe the sanitizing medium from the probe when extracting the thermometer from the device.

  • Patent number: 5676168
Abstract: The present invention is a fast-erecting tent in which several open-ended arcuate interconnect via a single connector. The frame of the tent includes 1) a pair of resilient, planar open-end arcuate sections that form a filiform base loop; 2) a pair of resilent open-end arcuate sections that form a filiform upper loop; 3) a connector which links a terminal end of the first arcuate section of the base loop plus a terminal end of the first arcuate section of the upper loop to the terminal end of the second arcuate section of the base loop plus the terminal end of the second arcuate section of the upper loop; and 4) a segmented, internally biased, arch shaped tubular strut. The ends of the strut are slidably and rotatably connected to the arcuate sections of the base loop. The strut is connected to the arcuate sections of the upper loop by means of a twist clip. The fabric covering is wrapped around and attached to the frame by conventional means. The connector is a sleeve with a through-bore.

  • Patent number: 3991408
Abstract: A self-sequenced read only memory is shown wherein each word line contains dynamic logic circuits for energizing a next word line after the fixed time delay provided by the dynamic logic circuits. Self-sequencing inverters are physically placed within the array area thereby increasing reliability and reducing circuit wiring. When used as a microprogram control storage, the memory is divided into a plurality of self-sequenced control routines. When a certain function is to be performed, the first word line of the control routine for performing the selected function is energized. Since each word line includes a one cycle delay and is wired to the next sequential word line, no separate timing or address control is required to address word lines within a selected control routine. Once a control routine is energized, sequential microinstructions will be automatically fetched including branch and branch-on condition instructions.
