  • Patent number: 5463100
Abstract: Aminoaryl .beta.-sulfatoethyl sulfone compounds, such as, for example 4-(.beta.-sulfatoethylsulfonyl)-aniline, can be prepared in a quick and easy manner from their corresponding .beta.-hydroxyethyl sulfone compounds by sulfation by spraying a solution or suspension or paste of this aminoaryl .beta.-hydroxyethyl sulfone compound or the acylamino compound thereof in sulfuric acid or aqueous sulfuric acid into a hot inert gas stream of a convection dryer. In this procedure, the drying, esterification reaction and the hydrolysis of any acylamino group present takes place synchronously. The sulfato compound is preferably obtained in the form of granules.

  • Patent number: 4336206
Abstract: Cyanohydrin acylates of aldehydes are manufactured by reacting aldehydes with aqueous solutions of cyanides and organic acid chlorides or anhydrides in the molar ratio of aldehyde:cyanide:acid chloride or anhydride of 1:1:1 with deviations of at most only about 10%, optionally in the presence of an inert organic solvent immiscible with water in a one-stage process. The process products are intermediates mainly in the fields of pharmaceuticals and plant protection.
