  • Patent number: 9903225
Abstract: A turbocharger is provided that includes a turbine, a compressor and a bearing housing disposed and connected between the turbine and the compressor. A shaft rotatably disposed within the bearing housing and extending into the turbine and the compressor. A bearing arrangement is disposed between the shaft and the bearing housing. The bearing arrangement including first and second bearings, each of the first and second bearings formed by a respective first and second plurality of roller elements engaged between a respective first and second inner race and a respective first and second outer race. The shaft is made of a steel alloy with a carbon content of less than 0.40% by weight.

  • Patent number: 9714588
Abstract: An oil recirculation system for an engine is disclosed. The oil recirculation system includes a first conduit coupled to the engine to receive an oil and a second conduit coupled to the engine to supply the oil to the engine. The oil recirculation system further includes a filtering device disposed between the first and second conduits. The filtering device includes a first housing member defining a first chamber therein. The first chamber is in fluid communication with the first conduit. The filtering device further includes a second housing member removably coupled to the first housing member and defines a second chamber therein. The second chamber is in fluid communication with the second conduit. The first and second chambers together define a passage to receive the oil therethrough. The filtering device further includes a filter member disposed in the passage to filter the oil flowing therethrough.

  • Publication number: 20150346181
Abstract: A health analysis system for an engine lubrication system is disclosed. The engine lubrication system includes a sump, a lubricant quality sensor to detect quality related to at least one parameter of a lubricant, and a conduit. The health analysis system includes a bypass line connected from the conduit to the sump to facilitate passage of a sample engine lubricant. Further, a patch containment assembly is included that has a first housing with a first passage. A second housing, defining a second passage, is removably connectable to the first housing. Moreover, a patch member is removably positioned within one of the first housing or the second housing. The first passage is in fluid communication with the second passage through the patch member.
