  • Patent number: 4986123
Abstract: An air flow sensor and a temperature sensor of a device for measuring air flow in the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine are mounted in parallel relation to one another in a plane of a flat holder member. The sensors are secured to the holder member in fixed manner by adhesives. The mounting of the sensors on the holder can be achieved by mass production with the sensors aligned in the common plane in parallel relation to one another. In one embodiment the sensors are secured to the upper and lower legs of a rectangular frame with an intermediate leg of the frame disposed between the sensors.

  • Patent number: 4362673
Abstract: A carburetor comprising an accelerator pump having a working chamber containing fuel and a piston displaceable in the working chamber to discharge fuel therefrom to an inlet passage of the carburetor. A sleeve is secured to the carburetor housing at one end of the working chamber and the piston is slidably guided by the sleeve for movement into and out of the chamber. A sealing ring adjoins the sleeve and includes a free sealing lip directed into the chamber and sealingly bearing against the piston. In order to vary the amount of fuel delivered to the inlet passage for a given stroke of the piston, a piston and sleeve of different diameter are employed while the linkage mechanism between the throttle valve and the piston can remain without change.

  • Patent number: 4283354
Abstract: The ratio air:fuel with a mixture fed to an internal combustion engine is maintained constant independent of the condition of said internal combustion engine in that the mixture is fed supercritically and the air subcritically into a by-pass line bypassing the main choke.

  • Patent number: 4216175
Abstract: A carburetor for combustion engines, having upstream of an arbitrarily operated throttle valve, an additional throttling element which is controlled automatically by a membrane unit operated by underpressure of vacuum in accordance with air flow. The additional throttling element controls a fuel jet by means of a needle. The discharge location of the fuel jet is at a point where essentially the same underpressure prevails as in the mixing chamber formed between throttle valve and throttling element. In an enrichment system for the heating phase the fuel jet is controlled by a needle whose variable position is determined by the position of a temperature-sensitive element via a lever, and the fuel quantity for acceleration is varied by means of a second membrane unit. The discharge location of this enrichment system is downstream of the throttling element. The second membrane unit may be actuated by underpressure and may have a pressure chamber closed by a movable membrane loaded by a spring.
