  • Patent number: 7043404
Abstract: A method for local processing of casting data arising from measurement data obtained from a continuous casting mold by sensors. The data processing is carried out using a process control computer pertaining to the control system of the continuous casting installation. The measurement and control data is immediately collected from the continuous casting mold in cold field modules, converted to bus signals in a bus line, stored at least in the control system of the continuous casting installation, and/or processed.

  • Publication number: 20030014195
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for local processing of casting data arising from measurement data obtained from a continuous casting chill (1) by means of sensors (10). Said data processing is carried out using a process control computer (11) pertaining to the control system of the continuous casting installation. The inventive method increases the efficiency of the measuring section and simplifies the device whereby the measurement and control data is immediately collected from the continuous casting chill (1) in cold field bus modules (2), converted to bus signals in a bus line (3), stored at least in the control system of the continuous casting installation, and/or processed.

  • Patent number: 5085067
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for automatically aligning horizontal rolls and vertical rolls in a universal rolling mill stand after the stand has been changed to new types of sections in a rolling mill train. The axial geometric configuration of the vertical rolls in the stand serve as a fixed reference value and the horizontal rolls are displaced radially and axially into roll positions which are measured by actual position indicators and from which the geometric roll gap center and the geometric roll center in the stand are determined. For taking into consideration the spring characteristic constants of the stand, the radial spring characteristic for the two horizontal rolls is determined together, the radial spring characteristic for each vertical roll is determined separately and the axial spring characteristic of one of the horizontal rolls is determined separately in accordance with one of the two axial directions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 26, 1991
Date of Patent: February 4, 1992
    Assignee: SMS Schloemann-Siemag Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Hans-Jurgen Reismann, Burkhardt Poreombka, Walter Schmalz
