  • Patent number: 6779944
Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping device set for aligning and clamping two pipe ends, with clamping plates (1) which are arranged axially distanced, with clamping wedges (2) which extend in axial direction and which on a first side (21, 23) are mounted movable in radial direction on the clamping plates, and on a second side (22) have a contact surface for acting on the pipe ends (91, 92), with a guide for guiding the clamping wedges (2) on the clamping plates (1) and with an actuation means (3) for moving the clamping wedges (2), wherein the guide (4) is provided with an elastic holding means for holding the clamping wedges (2) on the clamping plates (1). The invention extends further to a clamping device set with several sets of exchangeable clamping wedges (2) which have differing distances from the inner to the outer side (21, 22).

  • Patent number: 5217156
Abstract: A device for hindgas coverage in welding tube pieces (2,3) together comprises two sealing devices (5,6) connected by a rod (7). The sealing devices comprise a first web part (10) with sealing means (8) and a supply duct (11) for hindgas, and a second web part (9) with sealing means (8,25) and discharge ducts (19,20) for controlled outflow of gas to the surroundings. Some of the surfaces of each web part have a two-dimensional curvature (26) for forming the sealing means (8), e.g. rubber discs.

  • Patent number: 4956537
Abstract: A hindgas implement for protective gas coverage of the root of a welded seam that may be fixed to work pieces to be welded by means of vacuum chambers (11, 13) that are emptied of air via pipe branches (25). After that protective gas is fed to the root of the welded seam via a diffusor (19) and is withdrawn via outlets (21, 23). By means of this, hindgas coverage can also be achieved in welding together of major, extensive work pieces made up of plate as there is no dependence on free edges on which to clamp the hindgas device.
