  • Patent number: 5833167
Abstract: An adaptable carriage arranged in a transfer table located in front of the reel changer of a reel-fed rotary printing machine, the adaptable carriage accommodating a transport means such as, for example, a transport car or a transport cradle, on which the paper reel is loaded. The adaptable carriage, together with the paper reel, is brought into the loading position for the reel changer. Thereafter, the transfer table, together with the transport means, is moved in the direction of the carrying arms of the reel changer, so that the clamping pins of the reel changer can engage into the core of the paper reel. The adaptable carriage of the present invention is used in cases when the transport means is moved on the transfer table automatically. However, according to the present invention, it is also possible to easily remove the adaptable carriage, so that the transport means can be moved manually.

  • Patent number: 5462165
Abstract: A paper reel having a tear-off wire on its curved outer surface. The tear-off wire in turn has a catch clip at its front end. The paper reel is deposited on a paper reel unpacking station so as to be rotatable. The unpacking station includes a tear-off table which can be moved in the longitudinal and transverse directions relative to the paper reel has a catch hook which receives the catch clip of the paper reel when the tear-off table is correspondingly positioned at the end side of the paper reel. After the winding of the tear-off wire at the end side is removed from the paper reel, the tear-off table is moved further on a frame parallel to the longitudinal axis of the paper reel, while the paper reel rotates at the same time that the tear-off wire is being unwound until the tear-off table arrives at the second end side of the paper reel.

  • Patent number: 5123604
Abstract: An ejector ring (18) surrounds an axially movable mandrel (6), on which a core sleeve or tube (19) for a paper web roll, for example a newsprint roll, can be supported. The ejector ring is resiliently supported on the holder structure, for example on a holder arm (1) and surrounds the mandrel, and is movable parallel to the mandrel. The structure is space-saving, provides for secure retention of the mandrel and is thereby capable of supporting heavy paper rolls, while providing for reliable stripping of core sleeves off the mandrel upon retraction of the mandrel into the holder structure, for example for exchange of a paper roll.
