  • Patent number: 6334620
Abstract: The invention relates to a bellows seal for pivot joints, wherein a first end of the bellows is tightly and rigidly connected to the joint housing. The second end of the bellow tightly and annularly surrounds a tappet and has a radial and sealing surface. Said surface is a front face divided into an inner concave ring surface and an outer concave ring surface. In relation to the axis of the bellow, the angle of inclination of the ring surfaces is approximately &agr;=70° for the external ring surface and approximately &bgr;=80° for the inner ring surface. The radial extension of the outer ring surface is approximately 12% in relation to the radius of the outer ring surface of the ring flange of the second end of the bellow.

  • Patent number: 6208239
Abstract: In a procedure for the provision of access authorization for an engine-driven vehicle, if there is an operator request for the provision of access authorization to an engine-driven vehicle, a bidirectional signal transmission using encoded transmission signals and an electronic key will be effected. From transmission units located on or in the vehicle, vehicle signals will be transmitted to the electronic key, and, from the electronic key, key signals will be returned as echo signals to the respective transmission units. The time difference between the vehicle signal and the key signals will be determined and evaluated. The position of the electronic key in relation to the vehicle will be determined by means of successive bidirectional signal transmissions between at least two transmission units and the electronic key as well as by evaluating the time differences; having determined the actual key position, a decision on access authorization to the vehicle will be made.

  • Patent number: 6150785
Abstract: Described is a method of controlling the closing process of closing devices having at least one part that is moved by an electric motor, in which, in the startup phase of the closing device, a movement in the opening direction with a specific opening path is first performed immediately after the activation of the closing process, prior to the movement in the closing direction, for assuring jamming protection. This opening path is variably preset by means of an adaptation process involving at least one adaptation step, and at least as a function of a previous actuation process of the closing device.

  • Patent number: 5880363
Abstract: A process for checking the air pressure in the tires of motor vehicle wheels wherein at least a pressure signal characteristic for the air pressure will be picked up as a measured signal by a measurement device located in or on the tire of each motor vehicle wheel, wherein at least.

  • Patent number: 4973912
Abstract: A method and a device for transmitting and for measuring resistance values, is particularly provided for use in motor vehicles, for the constant control of airbag systems. In the method and device an exciter signal coupled into a secondary-side resonant LCR circuit from the primary side via inductively coupled coils is interrupted, transmitted back to the primary side of the transformer and is there used for determining the resistance value by evaluating the time constant of the exciter response.

  • Patent number: 4522418
Abstract: In motor vehicles, in particular passenger cars possessing an axle or axles with steerable wheels, the steering-gear box is conventionally located asymmetrically with respect to the center-line. The result of this on the steering linkage is that the linkage part-sections between the steering-gear box and each of the wheels are of different design. This asymmetry can give rise to differences in the wear of the tires on these wheels, and is advantageously avoided according to this invention by making the overall stiffness values of the two part-sections identical, irrespective of the design-differences.
