    Abstract: A plurality of control ribs are formed on a backing plate of a buffing pad. The buffing pad is releasably connected to a hand-held buffing machine. The control ribs provide increased flexibility toward the outer edge of the pad and provide an air flow pathway to direct dust away from the operator of the buffing machine.
