  • Patent number: 7230203
Abstract: The invention relates to a protective cap for at least one contact pipe of a welding torch, the pipe or pipes having a respective bore for guiding and contacting a respective welding rod that is fed through the pipe or pipes. The cap comprises a housing consisting of or coated with a poor electrically conductive material, for receiving the contact pipe and a bore, which allows the welding rod to emerge. The aim of the invention is to increase the service life of a contact pipe or a welding torch comprising at least one contact pipe of this type. To achieve this, at least two openings are provided in the housing for receiving at least two contact pipes and each opening is connected to one respective bore in the housing for receiving at least two contact pipes and each opening is connected to one respective bore in the housing. Each bore is positioned in such a way that it corresponds with the course of the welding rod in the contact pipe, once the protective cap has been mounted.

  • Patent number: 6462309
Abstract: The invention describes a welding torch (1), consisting of a main body (2) comprising at least one part, in which a feed device (10) for a welding rod (7) is disposed and which is joined to a connecting piece (21) in order to receive a contact pipe (23). A guide device (32) for the welding rod (7) is being disposed in the feed device (10) extending at an angle in the direction from the connecting piece (21) into the contact pipe (23). A bore (36) for the welding rod (7) and a guide bore (37) of a larger diameter (40) concentric therewith for the guide device (32) is provided in the contact pipe (23), the guide device (32) extending into the guide bore (37) of the contact pipe (23).

  • Patent number: 6200519
Abstract: The invention concerns a welding torch with a contact socket and a feed device. The feed device is arranged to hold a welding rod and guides the welding rod obliquely relative to a bore in the contact socket such that an outer surface of the welding rod abuts a defined inner surface of the bore at least over a partial region of the bore.
