Patent number: 10908708Abstract: In some examples, an active stylus may include a main portion and a top portion. The main portion may include a dry chamber used to store a battery. The top portion may include a wet chamber to store spare nibs. The wet chamber may be accessed to replace a damaged nib with a spare nib. When the top portion is fully mated with the main portion of the stylus, turning the top portion, in a first direction, relative to the main portion until the detent is reached and pulling the top portion from the main portion enables access to the wet chamber. Turning the top portion of the active stylus, in the first direction, relative to the main portion past the detent, until the top portion detaches from the main portion, enables access to the dry chamber.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2019Date of Patent: February 2, 2021Assignee: Dell Products, L.P.Inventors: Mark David Menendez, Jeff Walter Wirtz

Patent number: 10673948Abstract: Electronic components may be integrated in objects used by the trucking industry, such as truck, tractor trailer, cargo, and loading bay. These objects may then communicate with each other and with a gateway device to transmit or receive data or commands. The gateway may be configured to attach to the truck, such as by securing to the truck frame or securing to an interior of the truck cab. The gateway may couple to one or more input devices, and receive sensor data through the one or more input devices. The gateway may execute steps that allow the gateway to verify a trailer being picked up by a truck is the correct trailer and verify proper inspection of the trailer prior to transport.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2016Date of Patent: June 2, 2020Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Kevin Terwilliger, Andrew Tosh, Jefferson Walter Wirtz, Rex Bryan

Patent number: 6877398Abstract: A piston-rod assembly with a piston rod having at least one attachment at one end. The piston rod is fabricated of fiber reinforced composite. The piston rod has a body of fiber-reinforced ceramic with a basic matrix of carbon fibers or ceramic fibers or both wherein at least silicon carbide is embedded and with an open porosity, at least at the surface layer, of no more than 3% of the volume of that layer admitting lubricants into the pores. The at least one attachment (2, 18a, 19, or 22) includes at least one component of a non-ceramic material that fits into and/or interlocks with the piston rod.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2002Date of Patent: April 12, 2005Assignee: Krupp Bilstein GmbHInventors: Walter Wirtz, Marcello Di Fina, Klaus Hofmann, Günter Poetsch, Walter Krenkel, Ralph Renz

Patent number: 6789652Abstract: A resilient leg as part of an attachment for the wheel of a motor vehicle. The leg is provided with a piston rod (4) that has a piston (5) attached to it, that travels into and out of a housing (1), that is attached at its outer end to the vehicle's chassis, and that is maintained in radial alignment by two separated bearings. The piston divides the interior of the housing into two fluid-charged chambers (9 & 10). The object is to ensure satisfactory transmission of moments of force from the piston rod to the housing in a leg that is light in weight. The piston rod accordingly extends through, and is maintained in radial alignment at, both ends of the leg.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2003Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Assignee: ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbHInventors: Michael Hönig, Walter Wirtz, Marcello Di Fina, Klaus Hofmann, Günter Poetsch
