  • Publication number: 20080192729
Abstract: In one aspect, a multimedia gateway for connecting a first computer network to a non-compatible second computer network is provided. The gateway having a first function block, a second function block and a third function block. The first function block establishes a multimedia data transmission with subscribers of the first computer network according to the specific protocols of the first network, the useful data, signaling data, and performance characteristics being buffered separately in respectively associated first signaling-specific, state-sensitive stacks. The second function block establishes a multimedia data transmission with subscribers of the second computer network according to the specific protocols of the second network, the useful data, signaling data, and performance characteristics being buffered separately in respectively associated second signaling-specific, state-sensitive stacks.

  • Patent number: 7058045
Abstract: A method and a network element for processing signaling data and for controlling connections of subscribers of a packet-switching communications network. A network element actuates a concentrator interface using at least one connecting unit and makes resources available to it. Signaling data for performing subscriber signaling of a subscriber of the packet-switching communications network is transmitted between at least one packet control unit and the connecting unit via a message control system of the network element. The packet control unit converts the signaling data of the network element into signaling packets of the packet-switching communications network and vice versa. The signaling packets are transmitted between the network element and the subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20030206545
Abstract: A method and telecommunications system for subscriber administration in a variety of telecommunications networks, wherein first setting information for a first subscriber of a line-switching communications network and second setting information for a second subscriber of a packet-switching communications network are generated using a controller. The first setting information is transmitted between the controller and at least a first control unit of the line-switching communications network, and the second setting information is transmitted between the controller and at least a second control unit of the packet-switching communications network. Using the transmitted setting information, the first control unit sets service features and other features at the first subscriber and the second control unit sets service features and other features at the second subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20020044545
Abstract: A system for connecting a telecommunications terminal or a private branch exchange to a packet-switching communications network, and to an interface unit, a communications terminal and a private branch exchange for connection to a packet-switching communications network. The system has at least one telecommunications device, for example a telephone or a private branch exchange, which can be connected to a line-switching communications network. Furthermore, this system contains an interface unit which is connected both to the packet-switching communications network and to the telecommunications device. The interface unit converts at least some of the data intended for the subscriber line using the user-switching communications network into data of a line-switching communications network.
