Abstract: The invention relates to a cartridge for protecting a readable and/or writable data storage medium, such as an optical disk. The cartridge comprises a first cartridge part (1) for containing the data storage medium and a second cartridge part (2) connected to the first cartridge part and projecting therefrom. The second cartridge part is customized so as to perform at least one secondary function of the cartridge, such as connecting the cartridge to another object, or an electronic function such as data or copy protection.

Abstract: The function of a case is to protect a disc positioned inside the case from damages like scratches, fingerprints, dust or the like. When access the disk is needed, the case has to be inserted into a loading slot of e.g. a disk drive, thereby opening an access window of the case. Cases known from prior art have a rectangular shape and a moveable slider positioned at one side of the case. The present invention provides a case (1) for a disk (3), comprising at least two shells (4, 5), whereby said at least two shells are rotatable around at least one axis between a closed position and an open position, whereby outer side walls (11) of said shells (4, 5) define a triangular shape of the case in said closed position of the case, and whereby inner side walls (12) of said shells (4, 5) define an access window (14) in said open position of the case (1) providing access to the disk (3) through said access window (14).

Abstract: Method and device for positioning a component (3) with respect to a frame (2), whereby at least on positioning element (12) is introduced through at least one opening (8) of the frame. One end of the positioning element is inserted into a groove (13) of the component lying on the frame, whereby the end of the positioning element is pressed against at least one wall forming a boundary of the groove for positioning the component into the desired position.

Abstract: A disk drive unit having a disk loading mechanism, comprising a housing (1) having an opening (5) in a wall thereof for inserting or removing a disk. A disk drive (9) is accommodated in the housing. A loading mechanism for receiving a disk through the opening in the housing and bringing it into engagement with the disk drive comprises a slide (6). This is slidable with respect to the housing and the disk drive between a first position for receiving a disk and a second position covering the opening and allowing the disk drive to engage the disk. The slide is slidable substantially alongside the wall of the housing in which the opening is made and is adapted to receive the disk through the opening in the housing.
