  • Publication number: 20180238570
Abstract: An air manifold assembly for underground shelters which is capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions. The air manifold assembly includes a ventilation pipe, a tank-head-shaped dome, an annular plate, and a plurality of holes. A top end of the ventilation pipe is concentrically positioned within the annular plate. The annular plate is laterally connected about the ventilation pipe and joins the ventilation pipe to the tank-head-shaped dome. The tank-head-shaped dome protects and prevents the clogging and damage of the ventilation pipe. The tank-head-shaped dome is positioned adjacent to the top end of the ventilation pipe and is perimetrically connected to the annular plate. The plurality of holes exposes the ventilation pipe to the external atmosphere. The plurality of holes is radially distributed about the annular plate with each hole normally traversing through the annular plate. Opposite the tank-head-shaped dome, the ventilation pipe is connected to the underground shelter.

  • Publication number: 20180241276
Abstract: An EMP-shielded generator enclosure has a vent coupler, a pair of EMP shieldings, an exhaust vent and an inlet vent. The generator enclosure included a generator receptacle and a generator funnel. The generator funnel funnels hot air out of an interior compartment of the generator enclosure and through the exhaust vent. Specifically, the generator funnel is mounted over an upper opening of the generator enclosure. The exhaust vent is attached to the generator funnel by the vent coupler such that the exhaust vent is placed into fluid communication with the interior compartment through the vent coupler. The inlet vent is mounted onto the generator enclosure and enables air to enter the interior compartment. The EMP shieldings are integrated into the inlet vent and the exhaust vent such that electromagnetic radiation is prevented from entering the interior compartment without hindering the flow of air through the interior compartment.

  • Publication number: 20180238045
Abstract: An underground disaster shelter uses multiple shelter sections, an entranceway panel and a rear panel to create a structure that is protects against hazards in the external world. The underground disaster shelter is formed by serially connecting the shelter sections, connecting the entranceway panel adjacent to the head section of the series, and connecting the rear panel to the tail section of the series. Each of the shelter sections is equipped with a base, a gravity flange, a frame, and an exterior shell. The gravity flange is mounted around the base to retain the underground shelter at a desired depth. The frame is mounted onto the base and the exterior shell is mounted onto the frame. Accordingly, the frame, the base, and the exterior shell create a shelter section.

  • Patent number: 5115613
Abstract: An underground blast shelter providing short and long term protection against nuclear detonation for its occupants. The shelter consists of a paraboloidal cell to house the occupants and a command station interfacing with the ground surface. A flange completely surrounds the cell along its long dimension. The command station is made from an upper portion made out of steel and a lower portion which is a part of the flange of the cell. Access between the command station and the cell is through the flange and includes foot wells to facilitate movement.

  • Patent number: 4934553
Abstract: An above ground tank for the storage of flammable and combustible liquids consisting of an outer vessel of fiberglass construction and an inner vessel of similar construction eccentrically mounted within the outer vessel. The outer surface of the inner vessel and the underside of the cover is provided with an intumescent coating to foam up as a thermal barrier upon reaching a critical elevated temperature to resist the increase in temperature of the contents of the tank. The tank is supplied with a fiberglass filler funnel and a manway with a cover on which is mounted all of the pipe fittings required for the tank.

  • Patent number: 4884709
Abstract: An underground storage tank comprising a paraboloidal or ellipsoidal shaped vessel of fiberglass construction with an opening at the top through a neck. The vessel is provided with a yoke around the waist to permit cradling and handling, and a containment cell is mounted on top of the neck to provide access from ground level. Within the containment cell are provided all of the pipes and fittings required in connection with the use of the tank.
