  • Publication number: 20220050314
Abstract: In example implementations, a display is provided. The display includes a collimated back light unit (BLU) comprising a light guide plate and a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs), a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) layer formed over the collimated BLU, a thin film transistor (TFT) substrate, a liquid crystal layer formed over the TFT substrate, a color filter (CF) substrate, and a controller. The PDLC layer is to provide selective privacy areas on the display. The TFT substrate is to control emission of light from the plurality of LEDs. The CF substrate is to control a color of the light emitted from the plurality of LEDs. The controller is communicatively coupled to the plurality of LEDs and the POLO layer to activate a selected area of the PDLC layer to enable a privacy area on a corresponding area that is selected on the display.

  • Publication number: 20210341770
Abstract: An example display device with a multiple privacy mode of operation includes a micro lens cell having a first liquid crystal layer with a first set of liquid crystal molecules and a controllable optical effective refractive index, to transmit light through the micro lens cell. A pair of electrodes receive a voltage to change an orientation of the first set of liquid crystal molecules and the optical effective refractive index of the first liquid crystal layer. A micro lens array directs the light at an interface of the micro lens array and first liquid crystal layer. The micro lens array directs the light at different angles based on the voltage. A second liquid crystal layer changes a polarization of the light. A color filter controls a color of the light. A common electrode controls an orientation of a second set of liquid crystal molecules in the second liquid crystal layer.

  • Patent number: 10425003
Abstract: A power supply device is provided. The power supply device includes a power converter and a control circuit. The control circuit is coupled to a power converter. The power converter is configured to convert input power to provide output power. The control circuit is configured to receive a control signal and provide a dummy current according to the control signal and the output power, so that the sum of a current value of the dummy current and a current value of the output power is greater than or equal to a threshold value. The power converter can accordingly convert the input power in a soft switching manner.

  • Patent number: 8049925
Abstract: An image processing apparatus is disclosed. The image processing apparatus comprises a dividing module, a calculating module, a judging module and an adjusting module. The dividing module is used for dividing an image into a plurality of sub-images. The calculating module is used for generating a lightness threshold of the image. The judging module is used for comparing an original average lightness of a target sub-image among the plurality of sub-images with the lightness threshold. The adjusting selectively increases the original average lightness of the target sub-image according to the first judging module.

  • Patent number: 7965302
Abstract: The invention provides a Gamma conversion system applied on a source of image pixel data. Each image pixel data in the source of image pixel data has an M-bit pixel value with a first Gamma exponent. The Gamma conversion system comprises a storage module, a processing module, and a selecting module. The storage module therein stores I look-up tables. The processing module is respectively coupled to the source of image pixel data and the storage module, and the processing module comprises I converting modules, each of the converting modules corresponds to one look-up table. The selecting module is coupled to the source of image pixel data and the processing module respectively, and generates a selection signal according to the M-bit pixel value. In response to the selection signal, the processing module assigns one of the converting modules to convert the M-bit pixel value into an N-bit pixel value with a second Gamma exponent according to the look-up table corresponding to the assigned converting module.

  • Patent number: 7876321
Abstract: The invention discloses a method for the transforming of a 2D image into a 3D image. The method comprises the steps of: (a) selecting an object of 2D image; (b) setting a base line in the 2D image; (c) base on the base line, judging whether the object is located on the foreground or background of the 2D image; (d) offering a displacement to the object; (e) moving the object with the displacement to generate a plurality of continuous images; and (f) sequentially outputting each of the continuous images to generate the 3D image. Accordingly, after the user selects an object of 2D image, the method of the invention will automatically transform the 2D image into the 3D image.
