    Abstract: A pointing device is provided. A sensor generates a motion detection signal by sensing motion. A calculator receives the motion detection signal, calculates a motion value based on the motion detection signal, calculates a conversion motion value base on an angle of the motion value, and outputs the conversion motion value. An interface outputs the motion conversion value inputted from the calculator. By limiting a motion angle, the pointing device can provide a positioning operation suitable for a motion intended by a user. The user can optionally use a motion control method in all directions according to need.

    Abstract: An optical sensor module for an optical pointing device and a method of fabricating the same are provided. The optical sensor includes: a lead frame having a light receiving hole formed in a pad; an image sensor attached to the pad and detecting light emitted from a light source through the light receiving hole; and a molding member for integrally molding the lead frame and the image sensor. The method includes: forming a light receiving hole in a pad of a lead frame; attaching an image sensor to the pad; connecting the image sensor to a lead of the lead frame by bonding using a wire; molding the lead frame and the image sensor; and trimming the lead of the lead frame to a certain length and forming the lead.

    Abstract: The optical pointing device of the present invention includes a light source for emitting light; a mode identifier for outputting an upside-down mode signal when the optical pointing device is used upside-down; an image sensor for receiving reflected light from an object and obtaining image information of the object; a converter for converting the image information into digital image data; a basic motion value calculator for outputting a basic motion value corresponding to a motion of the optical pointing device using the image data; and a motion value converter for receiving the basic motion value and outputting a mirror motion value corresponding to the motion of the object in response to the upside-down mode signal. Thus, the optical pointing device provides the rotation mode, the upside-down mode and the normal mode, so that the optical pointing device is used in various situations and upside-down.

    Abstract: Optical image detectors and navigation devices employing the same are provided. The optical image detector illuminates incident lights on a surface of an object to generate an image for surface morphology of the object. The optical image detector includes a light source and an incident light generator that receives lights of the light source to generate incident lights. The incident lights include at least two groups of incident lights having different incident angles with respect to the surface of the object. The navigation device employs the optical image detector. The navigation device includes a case having a lower panel. The lower panel has an opening. The optical image detector is installed in the case. The incident light generator receives lights of the light source to generate the incident lights. The incident lights are illuminated on the surface of the object through the opening.
