Abstract: The present invention relates to an absorbent article comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and a valving means, the valving means comprising at least one one-way valve and a connection means which permits the connection of a pumping means, wherein the valving means allows air to be distributed into one or more regions of the article. The valving means of the article allows air to be discharged into the article in a region between a wearer's skin and the product.

Abstract: There is provided a bellows adapted to be actuated by the movement of a wearer's body and force air into a personal care product in a region between the skin of the wearer and the product. The bellows may be located in the periphery of the personal care product and the discharge of the bellows is directed into the personal care product so air is forced into the product.

Abstract: A diaper outer cover of a layered nonwoven material having an outer meltblown fiber layer of a meltblown material having an average basis weight in the range of about 1 g/m.sup.2 to about 7 g/m.sup.2 disposed on an inner nonwoven material layer, preferably a spunbond web.

Abstract: A composite material adapted for mechanical fastener use as a loop fastener component with a complementary hook component is made by laminating a film with an amorphous polymer layer to a prebonded nonwoven web under conditions producing laminate bonds corresponding to the prebond locations, and loose filaments or fibers between the bonds. The composite also desirably has a MVTR of at least about 100 g/m.sup.2 /24 hours and a hydrohead of at least about 50 mbar. In use as a component of a disposable personal care product such as a disposable diaper, the loop fastener component may be substantially the entire backing, providing comfort, protection and highly variable fit.

Abstract: A 3-dimension thermoformed bicomponent fiber nonwoven material comprising a lofty bicomponent material layer forming a plurality of peaks separated from one another by channels and having a basis weight in the range of about 0.5 to 7.0 ounces per square yard. The bicomponent material layer comprises a structural component and a heat activatable adhesive component suitable for thermoforming. Also disclosed are various configurations of this material suitable for use in absorbent personal care articles such as sanitary napkins, disposable diapers, incontinent-care pads and the like.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a combination apertured film and lofty fibrous nonwoven web separation layer which is particularly well suited for use as, among other things, a body side liner for personal care absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins and the like. When used in such applications, the material of the present invention has excellent liquid penetration rates and it resists rewet of the surface of the material.
