    Abstract: An ultrasonic-rotary composite atomization mechanism comprises a housing and an ultrasonic unit passing through the housing and free to rotate with respect to the housing. A dynamic unit is installed in a position of the ultrasonic unit, which is corresponding to the housing, to drive the ultrasonic unit to rotate with respect to the housing. The ultrasonic unit includes a material supply channel, a vibration member disposed in the ultrasonic unit, and a vibration-rotation cup connected with the material supply channel. The material supply channel carries a liquid into the vibration-rotation cup. The dynamic unit and vibration member operate simultaneously to make the vibration-rotation cup rotate at high speed and vibrate ultrasonically. Thus is generated a synergistic effect: the ultrasonic vibration uses inertia force to break the cohesion and disperse the liquid, and the high-speed rotation generates centrifugal force to atomize the liquid.

    Abstract: An ultrasonic spray coating system includes a piezoelectric transducer, a spray-forming head and a liquid supply applicator. The spray-forming head has an air-entrainment mechanism. The air-entrainment mechanism has an air-stream channel that is formed inside a main body and a bottom body of the spray-forming head for connection with a high-pressure air source, and an air vent formed in a bottom surface of the bottom body and communicates with the air-stream channel. A length of the air vent in a horizontal direction is greater than that of the air-stream channel. The liquid supply applicator has a discharge orifice, and a control component for controlling the size of the discharge orifice.

    Abstract: A method for forming a metal chalcogenide includes: (a) providing a preliminary precursor solution including a first precursor for an elemental metal of Ag, Au, Al, In, Ga, or Tl, a second precursor for a chalcogen element of Se, S, or Te, and a liquid solvent; (b) heating the preliminary precursor solution under an inert ambient, such that the first precursor reacts with the second precursor to obtain a metal chalcogenide precursor that is in an amorphous phase; (c) removing the liquid solvent from the metal chalcogenide precursor; and (d) heating the metal chalcogenide precursor under a hydrogen-containing gas pressure so as to convert the metal chalcogenide precursor into a single crystal phase metal chalcogenide.

    Abstract: In a method and apparatus for measuring displacement, an optical modulator includes a magneto-optical recording layer recorded with a plurality of light-reflecting graduation regions. The light-reflecting graduation regions include alternately disposed first and second graduations. The first graduations have a first magnetization direction. The second graduations have a second magnetization direction different from the first magnetization direction. A light source is operable so as to generate a light beam that is incident on the magneto-optical recording layer. The optical modulator is movable relative to the light source such that the light beam is reflected in sequence by consecutive ones of the light-reflecting graduation regions recorded on the magneto-optical recording layer. An analyzing module analyzes changes in polarization characteristics of the light beam reflected from the magneto-optical recording layer to determine extent of displacement of the optical modulator relative to the light source.
