    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to communicate with a base station on different channels or messages with different processing timelines. In order to prevent a collision between processing communications associated with the different length TTIs, the UE may drop one or more communications on corresponding channels with longer processing timelines to receive and/or process the transmission on the channel with a shorter processing timeline. Additionally, the UE may transmit uplink control information (UCI) for the one or more dropped communications, where the UCI may include hybrid access request (HARQ) acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) feedback, channel quality indicator (CQI), precoding matrix indicator (PMI), rank indicator (RI), etc. If a downlink transmission is dropped, the UE may transmit a NAK message. Alternatively, if an uplink transmission is dropped, the UE may transmit at least a portion of the UCI.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify uplink (UL) control information (UCI) to transmit during a subframe. The UE may then select a UL channel on which to transmit the UCI based on whether a shared data and control UL channel employs contention-based scheduling. For example, multiple UEs could contend for access to the same semi-persistently scheduled (SPS) physical UL shared channel (PUSCH). Each UE may utilize a different demodulation reference (DMRS) signal cyclic shift to identify their transmissions. In some cases, some UCI, such as channel state information (CSI), may be transmitted on a contention-based PUSCH, while other UCI, such as acknowledgement information, may be transmitted on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). In some cases, the channel selection may be based on a configuration received from a base station.

    Abstract: Channel state information (CSI) operations are disclosed with regard to elevation beamforming (EB)/full dimension (FD) multiple input, multiple output (ED/FD-MIMO) operations. With CSI processing associated with multiple CSI-reference signal (CSI-RS) resources, ambiguities may arise in determining the CSI reporting type and rank. CSI reporting type may be determined using a last reported beam selection indicator (BI) or, in the absence of a BI, may be determined according to a predefined rule. When rank and BI are reported separately and rank is absent, user equipment may determine a default reference rank for CSI reporting based on either or both of previously reported rank or BI. When rank and BI are jointly reported, encoding schemes with fixed bitwidths determined based on either CSI-RS processes or resources may be used to enhance decoding. CSI-RS antenna ports, processes, or resources may also be used in determining application of CSI processing relaxation.

A user equipment (UE) and a base station may use low latency communications to improve the throughput of a wireless link. To facilitate efficient low latency communication, the UE may send UE-initiated CSI reports in addition to periodic and base station-initiated reports. For example, the UE may, in various examples, send UE-initiated CSI reports using contention based spectrum, using a request-to-transmit, or using a CSI differential (i.e., an indicator of a change in channel conditions). The base station may schedule different UEs for uplink low latency communication by providing resources to each UE for CSI and scheduling requests (SRs) using coherent or non-coherent uplink transmissions. The CSI and SR may also be combined with uplink feedback.

A second method includes generating uplink control information at a wireless device, and transmitting the uplink control information over an uplink control channel of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. Resources of the uplink control channel are divided into a plurality of discrete dimensions and the uplink control information of the wireless device is transmitted over a number of the discrete dimensions allocated to the uplink control information of the wireless device.
