  • Publication number: 20230379953
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first base station may communicate during asynchronous slots in accordance with a set of communication parameters determined from a handshake procedure performed with a second base station. For example, based on a change to a slot type of a slot to an asynchronous slot, the first base station and the second base station may perform the handshake procedure to determine the set of communication parameters and may communicate one or more messages during the slot in accordance with the set of communication parameters. Additionally, or alternatively, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) associated with a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state based on a slot type of a first slot in which the UE transmits the SRS and a reference signal received in a second slot having the slot type.

  • Publication number: 20230379750
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station as part of a wireless communications system. The UE may receive a downlink message from a base station. The UE may perform a decoding procedure for the received downlink message. The UE may determine the downlink message has a traffic type associated with a quality of service level. The UE may determine to transmit enhanced feedback with an acknowledgment message (positive or negative) indicating the result of the decoding procedure for the received downlink message, in cases where the downlink message is of the first traffic type. The enhanced feedback may indicate assistance information associated with a quality of service level for the received downlink message. The UE may then transmit the enhanced feedback for the acknowledgment message.

  • Patent number: 11825454
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for reduced timing between certain downlink communications and responsive uplink communications relative to certain legacy systems (e.g., legacy LTE systems). A user equipment (UE) or base station may be capable of operating using two or more timing configurations that each include an associated time period between receipt of a downlink communication (e.g., a grant of uplink resources or shared channel data) and a responsive uplink communication (e.g., an uplink transmission using the granted uplink resources or feedback of successful reception of the shared channel data). In cases where a UE or base station are capable of two or more timing configurations, a timing configuration for a transmission may be determined and the responsive uplink communication transmitted according to the determined timing configuration.

  • Patent number: 11825516
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that relate to a two-step random access procedure. Generally, the described techniques allow different configurations for a first message of a random access procedure depending on a connected-state of the user equipment (UE) performing the random access procedure. A base station may transmit configuration information to the UE and the UE may use the configuration information to determine resources, coding, block size, or other factors for transmitting the first message based on the radio resource control (RRC) connected state of the UE. The UE may then monitor for a random access response from the base station based on the first message from the UE.

  • Patent number: 11825511
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that multiple physical uplink channels scheduled for the UE overlap. The multiple physical uplink channels may include a first physical uplink channel and a second physical uplink channel that are associated with different priority levels. The UE may transmit at least one of the first physical uplink channel or the second physical uplink channel according to a prioritization or a multiplexing of the first physical uplink channel and the second physical uplink channel. The prioritization or the multiplexing is based at least in part on whether the UE is enabled to perform simultaneous physical uplink control channel and physical uplink shared channel transmissions. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11824808
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems may support codebook structures for multiplexing single-bit feedback and multi-bit feedback in a same uplink feedback message. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first downlink message associated with single-bit feedback and a second downlink message associated with multi-bit feedback. The first downlink message and the second downlink message may have a common uplink transmission opportunity for transmitting feedback pertaining to the downlink messages. The UE may generate a codebook that supports inclusion of both the single-bit feedback and the multi-bit feedback for the first and second downlink messages. The UE may transmit the feedback message during the common uplink transmission opportunity based on the codebook.

  • Patent number: 11825464
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from another UE, a coordination message that includes resource information (e.g., a preference status) for communication resources. The UE receiving the coordination message may determine a status of one or more resources based on the resource information, an intended recipient of the coordination message (e.g., based on a destination identifier of the coordination message), or a communication connection associated with the one or more resources. The status may indicate that a respective resource of the one or more resources is available, reserved, preferred, or non-preferred, or some combination thereof. In some examples, the one or more resources may be for a sidelink connection or a unicast connection. The receiving UE may utilize the determined status to select one or more resources for a sidelink transmission.

  • Publication number: 20230370239
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to uplink preemption in certain systems, such as new radio (NR) systems, supporting carrier aggregation (CA) and/or multi-connectivity modes. A method for wireless communication, that can be performed by a user equipment (UE), generally includes receiving a resource assignment scheduling the UE for uplink transmission. The UE receives an indication to preempt uplink transmission on a portion of the assigned resources and determines whether to transmit on the remaining assigned resources. A method that can be performed by a base station (BS) generally includes receiving an indication from one or more UEs indicating, for each of a plurality of band combinations, a capability of the UE to transmit on a band when transmission on another band in the band combination is preempted and scheduling the one or more UEs for uplink transmission based on the indication.

  • Publication number: 20230371071
Abstract: Fallback procedures for user equipments (UEs) are described that provide efficient fallback to a four-step random access procedure from a two-step random access procedure. For example, after transmitting a first message of a two-step random access procedure, a UE may start a fallback timer or counter and monitor for a second message of the two-step random access procedure for the duration of the fallback timer or counter. At the expiration of the fallback timer or counter, the UE may fall back to a four-step random access procedure. In some cases, the UE may transmit multiple repetitions of the first message and monitor for responses after transmitting the repetitions or after each repetition. Additionally, or alternatively, the base station may transmit an explicit signal to the UE that may signal to the UE to perform a fallback procedure at a beginning or middle of a random access procedure.

  • Patent number: 11818723
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may provide hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for multiple physical channels (e.g., multiple physical downlink shared channels (PDSCH)) scheduled via multi-component carrier. The UE may monitor control channel occasions (e.g., physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasions), to receive wireless communications from a base station (e.g., a next-generation NodeBs (gNB)). For example, the UE may receive multiple downlink control information (DCI) messages that may schedule multiple PDSCH over different component carriers. The UE may identify one or multiple downlink assignment indices (DAI) in the received DCI messages. In some examples, the UE may generate one or more feedback bits of a HARQ feedback codebook (also referred to as an acknowledgement codebook). The one or more feedback bits include a same number of feedback bits for each downlink assignment index associated with each DCI message.
