  • Publication number: 20150324103
Abstract: A system comprising a software application which can be installed on communications devices to create a social network to share the appearances of an exclusive social group as represented by avatars dressed in virtual clothing and exchanging social commentary on same. Avatars, virtual clothing, and social commentary, as well as various combinations thereof are stored in a virtual closet. Personal looks are created in a virtual dressing room and a determination made as to how clothes fit using fitting algorithms. Infrastructure for a social network is provided wherein comments, opinions, advice, recommendations, and other such information related to personal looks can be exchanged in real time or by messages and data files to be read at a later time. Also included are means to ensure the privacy of an avatar. Also included are a means to estimate physical characteristics of clothing and from a virtual clothing representation.

  • Patent number: 8223798
Abstract: A receiver includes a sample rate converter configured to receive an input data stream having a variable data rate and to output a data stream having a fixed data rate. In some embodiments, the input data stream corresponds to digital video, digital audio and/or metadata, while in other embodiments the input data stream corresponds to any digital data stream that needs to be data rate converted for use by a receiving device. The sample rate converter is configured to track an externally sourced reference time signal corresponding to the input data stream.

  • Patent number: 8000423
Abstract: A sample rate converter includes a digital filter and control logic coupled to the digital filter. The digital filter is configured to receive an input data stream and to up convert the input data stream to produce an output data stream having a fixed data rate. The control logic configured to dynamically select a set of coefficients for taps in the digital filter during each clock cycle corresponding to the fixed data rate. • Patent number: 6848036
Abstract: An interleaver for any modem or transmitter which transmits digital data. The interleaver eliminates the iterative divide step of a first prior art method to calculate the final depth of each block and the divide followed by a multiply step of a second prior art method. This is done by calculating the minimum depth, i.e., number of rows, for each 2-D block of data using a divide step and retaining the remainder. The remainder is used to determine how many blocks get an extra row when the burst length and width of each row precludes all blocks from having the same number of rows.

  • Patent number: 5835123
Abstract: Compensation for pixel aberrations in a laser printer is accomplished by selecting pixels to be augmented, and providing additional optical energy to the selected pixels. In one embodiment, the pixels are selected by selecting pixels in combinations in which required pixel augmentation is indicated. The additional optical energy may be applied at the sub-pixel level so that a threshold of energy depletion on an optical photoreceptor (OPR) is not reached where image development would occur. The energy applied at the sub-pixel level results in enhancement of the selected pixels at an adjacent pixel location.

  • Patent number: 5757982
Abstract: In its basic aspects, the present invention uses a 3.times.3 data window to examine and to convert data in a 2.times.-resolution enhancement. Data is altered from a linear 2.times.-expansion method if and when the 3.times.3 data meets four criteria that determines the frequency content of the original 3.times.3 data window subset. The criteria are deterministic of whether a random pattern--such as in a graphical artwork figure--or a logical frequency domain pattern--namely text characters, numbers, or the like--are being printed. The method is particularly useful in dot matrix, or bit mapped, printing and the like. The data smoothing method is employed only after it is determined that a logical frequency domain pattern is being analyzed.
