  • Patent number: 5016505
Abstract: A spring return mechanism for returning the movable blade and connected slide plate to their at rest position in a flying shear. The device is positioned outboard of the movable and fixed blades, each of which has mating and alignable apertures through which long lengths of stock material to be sheared into shorter segments are continuously fed. Each device includes an upright elongated spring housing, a compression spring acting within the housing, and a guide button which moves up and down within the housing to return the slide plate and connected movable blade back to their at rest position immediately after each shearing. The guide button has an upper end which allows the slide plate to move or slide diagonally downward against the guide buttons following the diagonal motion of the movable blade during each cutting cycle.

  • Patent number: 4837933
Abstract: A machine for effectively and efficiently removing tiles as well as other covering material from the exterior of roof surfaces such as when the roof is to be repaired or such covering material is to be replaced. The machine travels over the roof surface and includes a separating structure reciprocally positionable between a forwardly directed separating engagement with the covering material and a lifting position relative thereto as the material is physically separated from the surface of the roof. In operation the machine may travel, under an operators control, continuously back and forth along the length of the roof until all the covering material has been removed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4389816
Abstract: A protective cover for the window sashes of awning windows is integrally formed of sheet metal and has a reversely-bent, lower marginal edge providing an inwardly-directed, shallow slot for the interhooking reception of the lower edge portion of the sash framework, and a substantially right-angular, inwardly-bent, upper marginal portion adapted to frictionally engage over the top of the window sash framework for retaining the protective cover in place. Upon full closure of the awning window, the upper portion of the covered sash framework locks behind the lower marginal portion of the next higher window sash, or the awning window frame header of the top sash, thereby securely retaining the protective cover.

  • Patent number: 4052829
Abstract: A method and means by which buildings, particularly residential buildings, can be prefabricated of cut-to-size metal wall framing and roof member elements for erection upon a prepared foundation at the site, the building framework thus erected being adapted to structural completion by a process involving scratch cement-plaster coating the outsides of expanded sheet metal enclosing the rib-work of the walls and the underside of roofing rib framework assembly, and thereafter pump-spraying a cementacious mixture between the voids of such rib-work against the opposite side of the scratch-coated expanded sheet metal to provide a substantially monolithic steel-reinforced basic building structure.
