    Abstract: A mounting system for heavy caliber rapid firing weapons has a sensor ressive to gun motion during recoil. The sensor provides an electrical signal used to adjust the rate of gunfire so that counter-recoil movement of the gun upon firing each round is substantially canceled by firing the next subsequent round, whereby oscillatory shock loads transmitted through the mounting structure are greatly attenuated and converted to a relatively constant load value.
