  • Publication number: 20070205128
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a plastic container configured to hold food or food related products, including cheese. The container includes upper and lower container walls separated by an integral annular stacking bead and an integral container bottom featuring an exterior side having a plurality of annular and radial reinforcing ribs. The lower container wall features vertical ribs defined by smooth curves that span at least ninety-five percent of the lower container height. The stacking bead is inwardly offset from the upper wall of the container in order to facilitate the nesting of the container within the lower portion of another container and to prevent the containers from being wedged within one another when they are nested. The arrangement of the annular and radial ribs on the exterior side of the container bottom provide increased strength to the container and prevent the container from deforming when filled.

  • Publication number: 20070017920
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a blow molded plastic container configured to hold food or food-related products, including cheese. In a first embodiment, the container includes extended vertical ribs that have a height that spans at least about ninety-five percent of a height of a lower portion of the container. In a second embodiment, the container includes a reinforced annular leg that is greater than the thickness of the container wall. In a third embodiment, the stacking bead is positioned between the lower and upper container walls, and the lower container wall is inwardly offset from the upper container wall. In a fourth embodiment, the container bottom is reinforced with continuous ribbing as opposed to only partial ribbing incorporated in containers known in the art.

  • Patent number: 6179251
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, an aerodynamic turbo engine nacelle, disposable about an engine having an engine face, for mitigating boundary layer separation of intake airflow comprises an engine inlet. The engine inlet is provided with an interior surface and a curved portion. The curved portion having a leading edge. The geometry of the engine inlet is such that the ratio of the circular area defined by the diameter defined by the leading edge of the curved portion to the minimum circular area defined by the interior surface of the engine inlet is less than 1.33. The engine nacelle is further provided with a pressurized fluid injecting device for injecting pressurized fluid at the engine inlet in a direction generally parallel to intake airflow in response to sensed airflow conditions.

  • Patent number: 6051802
Abstract: A needle burner apparatus is a generally rectangular box with a needle alignment plate located under the cover thereof. The interior of the box is provided with the electrode assembly, the drive assembly for horizontally rotating and horizontally reciprocating the electrode, the exhaust fan assembly and the container for collecting burned needle residue. The needle alignment plate is mounted to the underside of the cover of the box and is spring-biased upwardly. The electrode is a single rod element that is positioned horizontally in a carriage. The rod electrode is mounted for rotation along its horizontal axis and the carriage is also mounted for horizontal reciprocal motion. A drive motor effect the axial rotation of the electrode and, through a gearing assembly, the same drive motor also effects the horizontal reciprocal motion of the carriage.

  • Patent number: 5899692
Abstract: A dental syringe tip handpiece assembly includes a clear, plastic syringe tip mounted in an adaptor for connection to the handpiece. On the interior of the adaptor at a location adjacent the end of the syringe tip, a source of light, preferably a fiberoptic ringlight, is provided. Light from the light source will be transmitted down the length of the syringe tip and emitted from the end thereof. By positioning the end of the syringe tip in the patient's oral cavity, the dentist can provide illumination in the oral cavity so that various dental functions can be more easily and accurately performed. The source of light may also be a light bulb positioned at the rear of the adaptor. The adaptor is made from clear, or at least translucent, material so that light from the light bulb will be transmitted through the adaptor and then into the syringe tip. A special handpiece body formed of a handpiece inner unit and an outer cover is provided to receive the adaptor and syringe tip assembly.

  • Patent number: 5882194
Abstract: A dental suction tool has a disposable sanitary plastic suction tip to prevent cross contamination from one patient to the next. Additionally, a light source such as a fiberoptic bundle with or without a ring light is provided on the interior of the dental suction tool to provide light to the end of the plastic disposable suction tip. Illumination from the ring light or directly from the fiberoptic bundle is transmitted along the length of the suction tip and is emitted from the end thereof to illuminate the oral cavity during dental procedures.

  • Patent number: 5882197
Abstract: A dental suction tool has a disposable sanitary plastic suction tip to prevent cross contamination from one patient to the next. The suction tip is formed as a generally cylindrical hollow tubing and made of disposable plastic material. One end of the suction tip has at least one beveled section along an outer wall surface of the suction tip so that the suction tip can be properly aligned in the dental suction tool. Alternatively, one end of the suction tip has at least one recess that is adapted to cooperate with a keying element in the dental suction tool to properly align the suction tip in the dental suction tool.

  • Patent number: 5683248
Abstract: An autoclaving collar having a distal end and a proximate end is presented for fastening to the proximate end of a conventional dental handpiece to protect the impeller of the handpiece from the corrosive environment of autoclaving or sterilization. The collar has an opening at its distal end and an axially extending cavity that communicates with the opening and an annular shoulder which is concentric with the longitudinal axis of the collar for captively holding an O-ring member which seals the proximate threaded end of the conventional dental handpiece when the collar having internal mating thread is sufficiently threaded onto the proximate end of the dental handpiece.

  • Patent number: 5489205
Abstract: A syringe tip is locked into a three-way dental handpiece body means of a syringe tip locking assembly that screws into a threaded receiver in the body of the handpiece. The locking assembly comprises an adaptor that has a central tapered male member that receives one end of the syringe tip, a gripping member that snaps over a raised lip on the end of the adaptor body and a locking cap that screws onto the adaptor and over the gripping member. The gripping member includes a plurality of gripping fingers that engage the syringe tip and the locking cap effects the tightening of the gripping fingers into the syringe tip. The locking assembly both applies a positive gripping action to the syringe tip and also pulls the syringe tip onto the tapered male member to securely hold the syringe tip in the adaptor during use by the dentist. The gripping member is captivated onto the raised lip of the adaptor to prevent inadvertent separation of the pieces.

  • Patent number: 5342195
Abstract: Various adaptors are used for securing a replaceable syringe tip in operative relationship to a handpiece body. The syringe tip is mounted on a tapered male connector set in the hollow interior of the adaptor. O ring seals and a metal flange member are used to prevent the leakage of air or water passing from the handpiece into the interior of the adaptor and then into the syringe tip. A captivated thumb nut is utilized to prevent the thumb nut from accidently disengaging completely from the adaptor. When the thumb nut is loosened to replace a syringe tip, the thumb nut will remain captivated on the adapter, only loosening enough to allow removal and insertion of a syringe tip.
