  • Patent number: 11972649
Abstract: A system and method for using a portable device to communicate with a vehicle to authorize one or more vehicle operations. The portable device may authorize the vehicle to unlock/lock doors, start the vehicle engine, or mobilize the vehicle, or a combination thereof. The vehicle may include a vehicle transmitter system with one or more transmitters disposed at various locations on the vehicle, and the portable device may be configured to monitor a communication strength between the portable device and the one or more transmitters of the transmitter system. Based on the monitored signal strength, the portable device may determine location information about itself.

  • Publication number: 20200405445
Abstract: An orthodontic appliance for dental treatment includes an aligner or a bracket having a dimension (G, I, V) that compensates for a restorative treatment. The dimension (G, I, V) compensates for gingival alteration, hard tissue build-up, or hard tissue removal on the patient's teeth. An apparatus (10) for smile design includes a first data structure (20) that defines a digital 3-D smile template (100) of teeth arranged in accordance with predetermined criteria. A method of planning dental treatment of a patient includes superimposing a digital 3-D smile template (100) of teeth with a digital orthodontic setup (26) of a patient's teeth.

  • Patent number: 9233718
Abstract: A striker reinforcement plate for support of a striker member on an automotive vehicle body. The plate has a first substantially planar face, including at least two holes for receiving mating bolts or screws. A flange extends from multiple edges of the face substantially perpendicular to the face. The flange includes mounting tabs extending outwardly and substantially perpendicular to the flange. The mounting tabs are provided for mating with an automotive vehicle pillar. The face of the striker reinforcement plate mates with a rear surface of a striker stiffener.

  • Patent number: 8663378
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an asphalt mix comprising: heating aggregate; introducing RAP to the aggregate; dry mixing the RAP and aggregate; forming a coating of AC on all aggregate during the step of dry mixing by extending the length in time of the dry mixing step; separately blending AC, biodegradable solvents, and anti-stripping agent to produce a blend; and wet mixing the blend into the RAP and aggregate mix. The biodegradable solvents are capable of making the asphalt mix workable at ambient temperatures and comprise pine extract and biodiesel. The length of the dry mixing is extended to at least about 35 seconds. The aggregate comprises coarse and fine virgin aggregate. RAP is about 40% of the final product. The asphalt mix is stockpiled and bagged. The method further comprises manipulating encrusted material on the outside of the stockpiled cold asphalt mix back into the stockpile.

  • Patent number: 8287635
Abstract: An asphalt mix comprising a pine extract, the asphalt mix having low viscosity at ambient temperatures, and workable at ambient temperatures. The asphalt mix comprises asphalt cement, biodiesel, pine extract and an anti-stripping agent. The asphalt mix is an environmentally safe and “green” product. It comprises recycled asphalt product. The asphalt mix eliminates petroleum solvents beyond trace amounts used to denature biodiesel. The asphalt mix is used for patching at ambient temperatures. Safety precautions for heat and toxicity are not necessary for use. The asphalt mix comprises only solvents that are biodegradable. The biodegradable solvents are pine extract and biodiesel.

  • Patent number: 7506906
Abstract: A bumper assembly for a vehicle includes a bumper beam extending laterally across the vehicle and a bumper fascia covering the bumper beam. The bumper fascia includes a depending portion extending downward below the bumper beam. A powered vehicle component is mounted in the depending portion of the bumper fascia. A protective bracket is mounted below the bumper beam to prevent or limit contact of the powered vehicle component during a collision impact to the depending portion of the bumper fascia.

  • Publication number: 20070060107
Abstract: An end-user enters time sensitive information into an application; this, for example, may be an entry (e.g. ‘meeting’, or ‘lunch with Bob’) against specific times in an agenda or calendar application. Then, a different application on the device can utilise that information to modify the device behaviour appropriately. For example, say the ‘meeting’ in the calendar application is listed to last between 10 am and 11 am; then, during that hour, the telephone application in the device (that enables telephone functions of the device to be controlled) could automatically be set to a ‘silent’ profile so that the device does not ring on an incoming call, but instead only vibrates.
