  • Patent number: 11387574
Abstract: An omni-directional antenna module includes a plurality of vertically and horizontally polarized antenna elements arranged to provide 360° coverage around an antenna, and to eliminate nulls below the antenna. The antenna elements are arranged in parallel with respective orthogonal axes of a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system, with the centers of the antenna elements being arranged collinearly along the vertical or “Z” axis so that the radiation patterns of the individual orthogonally polarized dipoles do not interfere.

Date of Patent: July 12, 2022
Assignee: Nokia Shanghai Bell Co., Ltd

  • Patent number: 8928548
Abstract: An antenna comprising a network of arrayed radiating elements, a first reflective means comprising a flat central part upon which are disposed the radiating elements and longitudinally folded edges on either side of the array of elements, and at least one second reflective means which is a choke reflector disposed outside of the space separating the radiating elements of the reflector's folded edge. The second reflective means is separated from the first reflective means by a layer of dielectric material in order to connect it to the first reflective means by way of capacitive coupling.

  • Publication number: 20090160729
Abstract: The object of the present invention is an antenna system comprising at least one first antenna and at least one second antenna, each comprising spaced-apart radiating elements aligned along the longitudinal axis of the antenna, the second antenna being disposed a short distance away from, and parallel to, the first antenna, characterized in that the plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis passing through a radiating element of the first antenna is displaced in the direction of the longitudinal axis with respect to the plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis passing through the radiating element of the second antenna which is closest to it.

  • Patent number: 5589843
Abstract: An improved antenna system for use at high frequencies such as cellular communication and PCS frequencies, having a steerable, multi co-linear array antenna in which the number of radiating elements per co-linear array increases monotonically from the periphery of the antenna to the middle of the antenna, and wherein the antenna is connected to a Butler matrix feed network, thereby providing steerability of the radiation pattern associated with the antenna. The improved antenna system achieves significantly lower sidelobe generation as compared to antenna systems using multiple co-linear arrays of radiating elements in which the number of radiating elements per co-linear array is constant. The Butler matrix feed network is implemented via a microstrip fabricated printed circuit board without crossovers.
