    Abstract: A method, an orthodontic system, and orthodontic assembly (10), and a corrector assembly (8) with a telescopable portion (19), an attachable portion (18), and an engaging portion (20). The attachable portion (18) is attached to the telescopable portion (19) and is configured for coupling to a corrective device (14). The engaging portion (20) is attached to the telescopable portion (19) and is configured for coupling to an orthodontic implant (44). The telescopable portion (19) may be configured for pivotally coupling to the engaging portion (20). The attachable portion (18) may be configured for coupling to a corrective device (14), such as by crimping. The engaging portion (20) may be configured for rotatably coupling to an orthodontic implant (44). A process for attaching the corrector assembly (8) is provided by the method. By having a telescopable portion (19), an attachable portion (18), and an engaging portion (20), multiple modes of adjustability and direction of movement are possible.

    Abstract: An implantable composition of a biocompatible porous metal for enhanced tissue in-growth and fixation in the body. The metal has a porosity greater than 80% and up to about 95% which allows good cell population, yet it also provides structural integrity and stability allowing its use as a weight-bearing implant. In various embodiments, the metal may be titanium, which includes titanium alloys, or may be a cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy. The high porosity desirably facilitates in-growth of cells and/or tissues, which in turn facilitates biological fixation and biocompatibility. This is beneficial, for example, in an orthopedic implant such as a hip replacement, for facilitating in-growth of connective tissue and bone cells. The porous composition is structurally stable.

    Abstract: A modular artillery charge system consists of two distinct solid propellant harge modules. Each module consists of a three-piece combustible cartridge case design and bi-directional center core core ignition system. The three-piece combustible cartridge case consists of a combustible case body, having an open end and a end; a cap, having a closed end and an open end; and a center tube. The closed ends of the body and the cap have a hole in the center. The center core tube is positioned longitudinally through the combustible case body, and contacts the closed ends of both the cap and the body. The bi-directional center core ignition system comprises a core igniter bag and two end igniter bags. The core igniter bag occupies the center core tube, and the end igniter bags contact the core igniter bag. The bi-directional center core ignition system may be ignited by percussion primers or a laser ignition system. The first module is used individually or in groups of two.
