Abstract: The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions and methods for transmucosal delivery of proton pump inhibitors. In one embodiment, the pharmaceutical composition of the present invention comprises a core which comprises an antacid, and an outer layer surrounding the core. The outer layer contains a therapeutically effective amount of a proton pump inhibitor. In another embodiment, the pharmaceutical composition of the present invention comprises an outer layer which comprising a unidirectional film, and an inner layer which contains a therapeutically effective amount of a proton pump inhibitor. In yet another embodiment, the pharmaceutical composition of the present invention is a unidirectional tablet for delivery of a proton pump inhibitor across the oral mucosa.

The system is designed to provide a spring retention system using the flexibility and rigidilty of the components. The system uses a retaining member and or a gutter having spring arms to provide the spring retention system. This system normally provides an over center type securement. The invention is also directed to a two position support arrangement between a facia mounted retainer and a modified gutter.

The system can advantageously be combined with existing smoke or fir detector technology to share detection technology and activate additional electrical equipment for improving or simplifying the escape or emergency condition. Needles of this type have a steel or metal shank portion through which the blood or liquid is drawn, a plastic collar intermediate the length of the steel shank for releasably engaging a barrel portion with a portion of the needle extending interior to the barrel. The needles are released from the barrel by screwing the plastic collar out of the barrel. The container assists in this operation and includes a needle release area, preferrably a sunken recess, which has a needle receiving port having an enlarged area through which the needle and collar may pass and a restricted area for gripping the front portion of the plastic collar on the needle.
