  • Publication number: 20230133171
Abstract: A spoolable pipe (100) comprising: a barrier layer (104) formed around a longitudinal axis of the pipe; a reinforcing layer (105) disposed around the barrier layer comprising a fiber material; and an outer layer (110), wherein at least one of the reinforcing layer (105) and the outer layer (110) comprises a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) composition comprising a thermoplastic matrix and a rubber phase dispersed in the thermoplastic matrix and having a thermal conductivity of about 0.2 W/m-K or less.

  • Publication number: 20220299154
Abstract: In an embodiment is provided a composition having a thermal conductivity of less than 0.2 W/m-K, the composition including a rubber and a thermoplastic olefin. In another embodiment is provided an insulated high-temperature transport conduit that includes a continuous steel pipe comprising one or more pipe sections, wherein the steel pipe has an outer surface and an inner surface; and a first thermal insulation layer disposed over the outer surface of the steel pipe, wherein the first thermal insulation layer comprises a composition having a thermal conductivity of less than 0.2 W/m-K, the composition comprising a rubber and a thermoplastic olefin.

  • Patent number: 9938799
Abstract: A method includes designing a subsea equipment assembly having an insulation covering an outer surface of at least one equipment unit and a flow path formed through the at least one equipment unit. The designing includes modeling a temperature profile of the subsea equipment assembly having a fluid within the flow path, identifying at least one hot zone along an interface between the insulation and the outer surface, where the at least one hot zone is exposed to temperatures above a degradation temperature of the insulation, and designing at least one cold zone along the interface to border the at least one hot zone, the at least one cold zone exposed to maximum temperatures below the degradation temperature of the insulation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 3, 2015
Date of Patent: April 10, 2018
    Assignee: FMC Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Elizabeth Whitsitt, Carlos Ardenis Silva-Hernandez, Matthew R. Herst, Warren P. Jones, Frank Wabnitz

  • Patent number: 5173977
Abstract: A heavy patient support is mounted on a base by load cell beams forming the transducer for a scale to weigh a patient. Each load cell has a cup, a ball and an inverted cup providing the sole support for the patient support. Thus, only vertical components of force are weighed, and lateral movement of the patient support with respect to the bed is minimized.

  • Patent number: 4974692
Abstract: A weigh bed has a rectangular base frame, a rectangular weight frame mounted above the base frame, a load cell beam mounted on each corner of the weigh frame and a ball connecting each load cell beam to the base frame. Three tie rods connected between the base frame and weigh frame limit horizontal movement of the weigh frame with respect to the base frame.
