    Abstract: An antistatic chairmat for preventing electrical shocks due to triboelectricity. The chairmat consists of a transparent plastic material and includes an array of semiconductive inserts with a ground connection. The preferred design incorporates a conductive or semiconductive lower layer, and an insulative intermediate layer which may be a printed design, or sheet. The lower conductive or semiconductive layer provides electrical continuity to ground via studs at the bottom of the semiconductive inserts. An alternative antistatic chairmat includes a plurality of semiconductive layers bridged by one or more conductive grounding clips.

    Abstract: Apparatus for turning bottles and the like during exposure to a jet of hot gas or other heat source. Bottles are individually passed by an air cylinder gate and travel to a drive wheel and a spring loaded idler, where they are trapped by a second air cylinder gate. The drive wheel turns the bottle over a predetermined revolution while the bottle face is exposed to heat. The bottle is then permitted to exit by retraction of the second air cylinder gate. A pneumatic assembly controls gate operation, along with mechanical actuation to prevent bottle entrapment in the heating area.

    Abstract: File folders of the type having hooks to permit suspension for storage, and further including appendages to permit binding or compartmentalization of materials. The folder may contain loose-leaf binding rings, permanently or detachably mounted to the base. Alternatively, the folders are perforated at the base to hold a spiral binder for materials. The folders can be provided with telescoping side members to achieve an accordion-like effect. Such folders may additionally include permanent or removable divider panels.

    Abstract: A method for making a novel assembly of laid-on labels, without die-cutting, is described. The method comprises printing over the release surface of a temporary carrier web a liquid pressure-sensitive adhesive in a predetermined pattern of discrete label areas separated by intervening areas of the carrier, solidifying the adhesive surface, forming a continuous film of radiation polymerizable liquid over each adhesive area, the film over each area being unconnected to films over adjacent areas, and exposing the films to radiation sufficient to solidify them by polymerization. Preferably the films extend over the edges of the adhesive and comprise liquids which do not wet the release surface.

    Abstract: A method is disclosed for providing protective overcoatings to the surface of labels which are spaced apart and removably adhered to the release surface of a carrier web, the method comprising applying to the surface of the labels and to the surface of the carrier web exposed between labels a radiation-curable liquid composition, the composition wetting the surface of the labels to form a continuous film thereover, but not wetting the exposed release surface of the carrier web and forming thereover beads of liquid substantially unconnected to the continuous film over the labels, and thereafter exposing the films to a source of radiation sufficient to cure them to solvent resistant and abrasion resistant layers.
