  • Publication number: 20040198305
Abstract: A mobile radio receiver system for a vehicle providing recent segment replay function is disclosed. The wireless receiver is adapted to be contained within the vehicle. A digital delay line is coupled to receive the output of the wireless receiver. A delay selection switch is coupled to the digital delay line to route the output of the wireless receiver with a selected temporal delay in response to actuation by a person riding in the vehicle. In accordance with the preferred embodiment, the recent transmitted segment ends at the time that the delay selection switch is actuated. A control device is associated with the wireless receiver for receiving control selections from the person riding in the vehicle. An amplifier is coupled to receive the routed output of the wireless receiver. An audio transducer this adapted to receive the output of the amplifier and provide an audible signal to the person riding in the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5995221
Abstract: A modified concentric spectrograph for diffracting light with high stray light rejection without astigmatism is provided. The modified spectrograph includes a grating, a lens, and at least one entrance port and one exit port. The grating has a concave surface and a meridian plane with a first side and a second side. The lens has a substantially planar surface and a convex surface. Preferably, the convex and concave surfaces are substantially concentric. The ports are substantially located on different sides of the meridian plane near a focal plane of the spectrograph. The position of a focal plane may be modified using an optically transmissive triangular prism with a reflective surface, and an optically transmissive block. The position of a focal plane may further be modified with one or more optically transmissive plates. Methods for using the spectrograph are also provided.

  • Patent number: 5192981
Abstract: A monochromator of the Czerny-Turner type includes an entrance slit, a collimating mirror for receiving light output by the entrance slit, a planar grating for receiving light reflected by the collimating mirror, a focusing mirror for receiving light reflected by the grating, and an exit slit for receiving light focused by the focusing mirror. Light generally proceeds from the entrance slit to the collimating mirror, form the collimating mirror to the grating, from the grating to the focusing mirror and from the focusing mirror to the exit slit. The improvement comprises the use of a single toroidal collimating mirror in the system in combination with a spherical focusing mirror.
