  • Publication number: 20230412572
Abstract: Information is provided to a service mesh by a Kubernetes (K8s) controller. The information enables the service mesh to determine an IP address of application pods to which a monitoring request is destined. The K8s controller detects which of the application pods are scheduled to be monitored by the monitoring service. The K8s controller creates dummy headless services that match the application pods scheduled to be monitored. The service mesh is programmed information from the dummy headless services to cause the service mesh to intercept the monitoring request and identify that the monitoring request is destined to the dummy headless service based on the addresses. In response the service mesh encrypts the monitoring request.

  • Patent number: 11807429
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a new and improved paper-based container. More specifically, the invention relates to a paper-based container that is comprised of a relatively low-density polyethylene coating on one or both surfaces of the container and at least two skive flaps, wherein each of said skive flaps is created during the manufacturing process. The skive flap further comprises at least one leading edge of the container body, and prevents unwanted moisture from entering the container and the contents of the container from saturating the paper-based material. One skive flap is preferably folded in a manner in which a portion of the outside surface of the container is adhered to the inside surface, a second skive flap is adhered to the outside surface and a third skive is formed at the bottom of the container.

  • Publication number: 20230353392
Abstract: A method of processing traffic to provide a service is described. A first service mesh in a first cluster is used to ensure traffic is communicated within the first cluster using a secure communications protocol with mutual authentication accomplished using a certificate chain having a root certificate. A client in the first cluster originates traffic to a second cluster for processing, the second cluster having access to the root certificate. Using the first service mesh, routing the traffic to the second cluster is done using a secure communications protocol with mutual authentication. Mutual authentication is carried out between the first cluster and the second cluster using certificate chains having the root certificate; and in response to the mutual authentication being successful, application data is routed to the second cluster using the secure communications protocol such that the application data may be processed at the second cluster to provide the service.

  • Publication number: 20230353535
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, data processing system and computer-readable medium for a pod of a container orchestration platform to secure metrics relating to the pod prior to transmission of metrics to a metrics collection service. The method comprising: receiving a secure request at a pod IP address and forwarding the request to a container of the pod; and receiving an insecure request at the pod IP address; examining the content of the received insecure request; from the examining, determining whether the received insecure request is requesting metrics information; if it was determined that the received insecure request does not request metrics information, passing the request to an original destination within the pod, and if it was determined that the received insecure request does request metrics information, rejecting the received insecure request.

  • Patent number: 11383474
Abstract: A container with a non-heat-seal window and a process for fabricating a low surface energy container with a non-heat-seal window. The process comprises forming a container template and cutting an opening in the container template. A window comprising a window stock material, a releasable liner, and a wiped on adhesive positioned between the window stock material and the releasable liner is sized to overlap the opening. A portion of the adhesive is exposed and the window is positioned over the opening. The window is then secured to the container template over the opening without the need to apply heat, and the container template is folded into the low surface energy container with the window.

  • Patent number: 7654379
Abstract: A system and method for machining an elongate workpiece in a plurality of work cells are provided. The work cells are positioned along a substantially linear process flow path so that the work operations can be performed on different lengthwise portions of the workpiece simultaneously. A transport system advances the workpiece from an infeed system along the process flow path, thereby moving the lengthwise portions of the workpiece successively through the work cells. The transport system includes a plurality of pallets that can be engaged to the workpiece so that the workpiece is supported by the pallets throughout at least part of the machining system.

  • Patent number: 5651850
Abstract: A hybrid composite structure is formed from layers of gore strips (12), polymeric matrix composite (71) comprising a resin impregnated slit tape or tow, and a central honeycomb layer formed from a plurality of rectangular sections (72). The first two steps include forming a plurality of the gore strips and providing a mold, or lay-up mandrel (10). Thereafter, a first set of gore strips is applied to the lay-up mandrel to form a first gore strip layer. Subsequently, the composite material in form of resin impregnated slit tape or tow is applied to the first gore strip layer to form a first composite material layer. Next, a second set of gore strips is applied to the first layer of polymeric matrix composite, opposite the first gore strip layer, to form at least one other gore strip layer. This creates a first sandwich structure having gore strips as the first and last layers of the structure. Thereafter, the layer of honeycomb material is applied to the last layer of the first sandwich structure.

  • Patent number: 4649752
Abstract: A probe for use in determining the thickness of an interface gap between two parts is disclosed. The probe includes a wave spring (13) formed in one end of a thin, flat, elongate piece of resilient steel (11). The wave spring (13) includes three sinusoidal waves having a peak-to-peak separation that is greater than the maximum thickness of the gaps to be measured. Mounted on the wave spring (13), at the bottom of the concave depression (-) formed by each of the sinusoids are strain sensors (43a-d or 61a, b) positioned to sense the radial and circumferential strain applied to the wave spring (13) when the wave spring is positioned in a gap such that the wave spring sinusoids are compressed. Two or four strain sensors may be used to create a half or a full strain gauge bridge at the bottom of each concave depression. In the case of the half strain bridge arrangement, the remaining legs of the bridge are formed by "dummy" resistors located in a controlled environment remote from the wave spring.
