  • Patent number: 6138693
Abstract: An automatic detergent dispenser for dishwashers allowing transfer of a liquid detergent from a disposable detergent container placed in holders along the sidewall of a dish washing chamber. The storage container includes a membrane that is pierced upon installation with a coupling tube to allow the flow of liquid detergent without the transfer of fluid between containers. Liquid detergent flows by gravity to a dispenser unit where it is stored until the wash cycle and released from the dispenser by use of an electric actuator. The detergent containers include a transparent portion to provide a visual indication of the amount of detergent contained therein.

  • Patent number: 6138405
Abstract: The instant invention is a lawn and garden edging system which provides for a border device positionable adjacent walks and plant beds with provisions for the attachment of watering and lighting components. An insertion structure is provided which is inserted into the ground by use of a wooden handle placed into an aperture allowing an individual to stand on an upper end of the structure allowing the installer's weight to force the structure into the ground. The upper portion of the structure forms a passageway with apertures available for positioning watering components, electrical components may also be attached for connection to lighting products used to highlight trees, bushes or a home. A second embodiment of the invention provides a conduit for attachment to conventional extruded plastic edging dividers, the conduit provides the formation of a passageway for placement of the aforementioned watering components and electrical connections.

  • Patent number: 6074608
Abstract: An apparatus for injecting a controlled amount of gas into a sealed container to allow efficient analysis of the contents of the container. The apparatus includes an inlet opening that allows for a known gas to be placed within the container and a device for removing of the gas once circulated through the container. The expelled gas is directed through a gas detection device for testing of explosive and/or drug paraphernalia vapors. The apparatus includes a positive gas displacement device for insuring that equal volumes of gas flow simultaneously through the inlet and outlet. The apparatus permits the fumigation of the closed container for elimination of odors, infestation, and allows rectifying of odors through the introduction of agreeable scents.

  • Patent number: 5839454
Abstract: The instant invention is an automatic detergent dispenser for residential dishwashers allowing transfer of liquid from a store purchased container or an integrated storage receptacle. The invention allows an individual to determine the amount of detergent to be transferred with provisions to operate the detergent transfer only upon demand preventing operation of the dishwasher if an insufficient amount of detergent is available. An alternative embodiment allows positioning of a storage container beneath the dishwasher chamber with provisions to fill the container.

  • Patent number: 5586562
Abstract: The instant invention is a device and method for treatment of bruxism, snoring, and sleep apnea based upon an inconspicuously placed tooth guard which, in the preferred embodiment, includes a pressure sensitive surface which is electrically coupled to an alarm mechanism. The alarm mechanism is activated when the contact area is compressed and may be constructed of sensitive materials so as to detect vibrations indicative of snoring. The device attaches to release clips bonded to the side of a tooth with a sensing area positioned between the teeth so as to indicate bruxism is occurring. The alarm mechanism will provide a resonant frequency capable of making a sound or providing a vibration indicating to the individual that bruxism is occurring. A timer mechanism can be used to delay operation of the alarm. Alternatively, the timer mechanism can be made operational wherein the lack of circuit contact will cause alarm so as to indicated sleep apnea.

  • Patent number: 5524358
Abstract: The instant invention is a ventilation filtration kit for use with residential and commercial dishwashers. The filtration kit consists of a flexible duct that is coupled to the ventilation intake of the dishwasher having a filter located on one end of the duct to provide clean air into the dishwasher. The flexible duct allows for placement of the filter in a remote position such as adjacent to the dishwasher. Placement of the filter in a cabinet allows for the induction of air free of debris which typically accumulates beneath a dishwasher. Additional provisions are made for placement of a germicidal lamp within the flexible duct made operational by a sail switch providing operation of the ozonator upon demand. An electric fan may also be placed within the duct for drawing air into a convection type dishwasher or for use in drawing air from a distant location.
