  • Patent number: 5531171
Abstract: A plurality of digging devices are mounted side by side on the same beam which is coupled to a clamping system of a vehicle or of a tank containing the liquid to be buried. Each device comprises, mounted on the same chassis, at least a disk for forming and opening a furrow on the ground surface. The liquid to be buried is injected into the opened furrow and then it is covered after the injection. The disk (15) has at least one convex face. The disk (15) is mounted to stand almost vertical with its axis of rotation, in an almost horizontal location which is perpendicular to the forward moving direction of the device. The clamping system is designed to exert a vertical downward force on the disk (15).

  • Patent number: 5339514
Abstract: A stator for a fractional horsepower motor has a mounting hole of reduced dimensions for fixing the position of motor mounting brackets which support a rotor. The configuration of the mounting holes increase the area where magnetic flux may pass. One configuration reduces the depth of the mounting hole to one or two laminates of each side of the stator. Another configuration is an elongated hole which lies in the direction of the magnetic flux. Each laminate may have a tang which interlocks with tangs on other laminates when the laminated stack is squeezed together in a punch press.

  • Patent number: 5253303
Abstract: A character recognizing method includes steps of detecting a character using an end of the character line as a start point, normalizing the detected character, comparing the normalized value with a predetermined standard pattern, and detecting a point having a minimum distance difference from the standard pattern as a segmentation point between neighboring characters.

  • Patent number: 4996702
Abstract: Apparatus and method for testing a sparing line circuit in a communication system, comprised of a test access concentrator circuit and relay circuitry for connecting the sparing line circuit thereto. The test access concentrator circuit includes a hookswitch polarity detector for detecting the presence of DC battery feed current flowing from the sparing line circuit, and the direction of flow of battery current, and termination circuitry for providing one of either a DC or ANI termination to the sparing line circuit for sinking the DC battery supply current. Signal outputs from the hookswitch polarity detector circuit provide an indication of whether or not the sparing line circuit is present, and if so whether the sparing line circuit has been connected with correct polarity.

  • Patent number: 4989095
Abstract: A controlling method for a charge-coupled device according to the present invention decreases the amount of ineffectual electric charges by applying a photo shield film over photo sensing elements or a semiconductor substrate with a certain voltage level, then accumulating effectual electric charges in the presence of an optical radiation into the photo sensing elements in applying a different voltage level to the photo shield film for promoting the production of the effectual electric charges while the reduced ineffectual electric charges are swept into the overflow drain, then transferring the effectual electric charges to the multiple-stage horizontal shift register.

  • Patent number: 4689784
Abstract: In a data distributor for distributing an output data signal to an output port in response to an input data signal divisible into a plurality of channel signals arranged in channels, respectively, a position number signal is specific to a position of the data distributor and converted by a converting unit into a specific channel number signal representative of a specific one of the channels. The specific channel number signal is compared by a comparator with each channel number signal received in synchronism with the channel signals, to detect coincidence therebetween. On detection of coincidence, an AND gate allows a part of the input data signal to pass therethrough as the output data signal.
