  • Patent number: 11402491
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a first node for performing the method of determining a distance between the first and a second node. The method comprises time stamping a data packet to be transmitted from the first node to the second node with a first time stamp, transmitting said data packet to the second node, receiving the transmitted data packet back from the second node, repeating the transmitting and receiving step at least one more time, time stamping the last received data packet from the second node with a second time stamp, and calculating the distance between the first and second node based on the first and second time stamp, the number of repetitions of the repeating step and the internal delays in the first and second node.

  • Patent number: 11071082
Abstract: A method performed by a secondary node for enabling positioning of a device in a wireless communications network. First, the secondary node receives a positioning data packet from a primary node to the device. The secondary node then determines the transmitting time of the positioning data packet based on the reception time of the positioning data packet in the secondary node and the position of the primary node and the secondary node. The secondary node also receives a request response from the device to the primary node. The secondary node then enables positioning of the device based on the determined transmitting time of the positioning data packet and the reception time of the received request response. A secondary node for enabling positioning of a device in a wireless communications network is also provided. Furthermore, a central node and a method therein for positioning a device in a wireless communications network are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10444324
Abstract: A node for determining the position of a device, wherein the node is configured to transmitting a Response Request Message, RRM, to the device, start at least one counter at the transmission of the RRM from a physical or data link layer of multiple abstraction layers being adapted to perform different tasks in the node, receive a Response Message, RM, from the device as a response to the RRM, stop the at least one counter at the reception of the RM, wherein the node further is adapted to record a counter result at the reception of RM in the physical or data link layer for each of at least three omni-directional antenna elements in the node using the at least one counter, determine the distance between the node and the device based on the recorded counter results, record an arrival angle, for the reception of the RM at each of the at least three omni-directional antenna elements, and determine the position of the device based on the determined distance and the recorded arrival angles.

  • Publication number: 20190310361
Abstract: A method, node, and device for determining a traveling distance for sub-GHz radio signals wherein the range and accuracy are significantly improved in relation to prior art systems. The solution relates to receiving at least one data packet, bias at least part of the data packet radio signal, and using the biased section to perform a distance calculation. The distance calculation can for example be used in a positioning system.
