  • Patent number: 4557746
Abstract: An actuator for use in or with a glassware forming machine for pneumatically driving a member through a predetermined path, such member being, in one embodiment, a pusher cylinder for moving one or more glassware articles through a predetermined arcuate path. The velocity of the actuator is controlled according to a predetermined velocity profile and is effected by an electromechanical control means which controls the linear velocity of the piston of a pneumatic cylinder in one direction of motion.

  • Patent number: 4504301
Abstract: An apparatus for individually controlling the delivery of each gob within a group of gobs intended for simultaneous delivery to the molds of a section of a multiple section glassware forming machine. In a multiple gob multiple section glassware forming machine adapted to receive a plurality of gobs simultaneously at each successively activated section of the machine, a corresponding plurality of interceptors are associated adjacent the paths of the gobs and may be selectively activated to reject selected ones of the gobs in each cycle of the machine.

  • Patent number: RE28759
Abstract: A system for distributing successively formed groups of glass gobs from a feeder bowl to the several individual sections of a Hartford I.S. type glassware forming machine includes a single scoop for each gob in the group, and mechanism for rotating the scoops between successive positions wherein each is aligned with a chute associated with a particular mold cavity in each machine section. A "double-gob" installation is described and the two scoops have associated annular spur gears which are driven in unison by a reciprocable rack gear through a predetermined schedule of angular displacements to successively align the two scoops with several sets of paired chutes according to a particular order and to then repeat this schedule. A cam follower connected to the rack gear causes programmed movement thereof in response to rotation of a cam having lobes of predetermined height to produce the predetermined schedule of angular displacements of the scoops.
