  • Patent number: 7716337
Abstract: An intermediate device which can be introduced and removed in seamless way is disclosed. The state information acquiring means acquires state information required to maintain the state of a session established between the first information processing device and the second information processing device for the information processing service, from the first information processing device or the second information processing device. The intermediate service managing means generates, based on the state information, transfer rules for applying the intermediate service to data of the information processing service, and transferring the data to which the intermediate service is applied. The transfer control means maintains the state of the existing session between itself and the second information processing device, establishes a new session between itself and the first information processing device, and transfers the data using the existing session and the new session, according to the transfer rules.

  • Publication number: 20040267758
Abstract: There is disclosed a file migration apparatus for migrating a file properly between file servers on-line by impersonating an owner of exclusive lock and generating a replication. A message forwarder relays forwarding of messages between clients and servers. An exclusive lock state information manager manages exclusive lock state information. In response to a request to generate a replication of a file, a file replicator asks the exclusive lock state information manager for the exclusive lock state information. If the file is in exclusive lock, the file replicator impersonates the owner of exclusive lock and generates a replication. The message forwarder blocks forwarding of messages while performing a process of maintaining consistency between the file and the replication. The file replicator checks if there is consistency between the file and the replication or not. If there is no consistency between the file and the replication, the file replicator generates a replication again.

  • Patent number: 6785792
Abstract: In a storage system, a plurality of logical disks are constituted by combining a plurality of physical disks. A logical disk management unit converts input/output (I/O) requests addressed to the logical disks into I/O requests addressed to corresponding physical disks, and outputs the converted I/O requests. A physical disk management unit accesses the corresponding physical disks in accordance with the I/O requests which are output from the logical disk management unit and addressed to the physical disks. A logical disk relocation control unit relocates the logical disks so as to set the busy rates of the physical disks within a range between the first state in which the ratio of the busy rates of the physical disks is equal to the ratio of the I/O processing performance values of the physical disks, and the second state in which the busy rates of the physical disks are leveled. A data relocation method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5082347
Abstract: A tape-like coated optical fiber comprises: a plurality of optical fiber strands arranged side by side on a plane; and a tape coating of ultraviolet curable resin applied onto an outer periphery of the plurality of optical fiber strands so as to integrate the plurality of optical fiber strands with each other; each of the plurality of optical fiber strands having an optical fiber glass, a coating layer of ultraviolet curable resin provided on an outer periphery of the optical fiber glass, and a colored layer provided on the coating layer of ultraviolet curable resin. The weight of a volatile component contained in a coloring material used in the colored layer at 60.degree. C. is not larger than 5% of weight of the coloring material.
