    Abstract: In a fishing reel, on the surface of a fishline winding barrel portion (10a) of a spool (10) around which a fishline (5) is wound in accordance with the rotational movement of a handle 7, a display portion (10b) is provided which can be visually recognized through the fishline wound around the winding barrel portion of the spool. As a result, a reel user is able to visually recognize with ease the quantity of fishline wound around the spool and the amount of fishline that has been played out.
