  • Publication number: 20200230598
Abstract: An analysis system may perform operations on an analyte that may be combined with multiple regents prior to being introduced into a flow cell. The instrument may include a volume into which the reagents to be combined with the analyte are aspirated one-by-one. The volume may be formed as a serpentine channel in a valve manifold associated with sippers for aspirating the reagents. The reagents may then be mixed by cycling a pump to move the reagents within the mixing volume or channel.

For this, the reagents may be aspirated from a recipient into the volume or channel, ejected back into the recipient, and this process may be performed repeatedly to enhance mixing.

  • Publication number: 20200117286
Abstract: Example implementations relate adjusting cursor positioning. In some examples, a system may include a cursor positioning device in communication with a computing device. The computing device may be to predict an intended cursor destination based on a detected eye position. The computing device may be to determine a difference between the intended cursor destination and a displayed cursor position resulting from a cursor positioning signal received from the cursor positioning device. The computing device may be to adjust a setting of the computing device to adjust a subsequent cursor positioning signal such that a subsequent displayed cursor position is within a threshold distance from a subsequent intended cursor destination.

  • Publication number: 20200045756
Abstract: In example implementations, methods for selecting a network connection for paired endpoint devices and an apparatus for performing the same is provided. The method includes establishing a connection to a mobile endpoint device. A first quality score associated with a wireless connection of the mobile endpoint device is calculated based on a parameter associated with the wireless connection between the mobile endpoint device and a wireless network. A network selection is made based on a comparison of the first quality score and a second quality score. The second quality score is associated with a connection between the computer and a communication network.

  • Patent number: 10537892
Abstract: Disclosed herein are devices and techniques for providing for enhanced fluid mixing in a sample vial. A plunger head may be removably housed inside of a cap that is attached to a container; the cap may have an opening allowing a shaft, e.g., a probe or sipper shaft, to be inserted into the cap and into the plunger head. The shaft may be used to push the plunger head free of the cap, and then to reciprocate the plunger head within the container to mix the content. Withdrawal of the shaft may then cause the plunger head to disengage from the shaft and remain in the container.

Abstract: An example electronic device includes a touch-sensitive display and a processor. The processor is to, in response to detecting a set of touches on the touch-sensitive display, cause a virtual keyboard to be displayed on the touch-sensitive display. The processor is also to set distinct areas of the touch-sensitive display corresponding to the set of touches as distinct initial positions. The processor is further to determine a key selection of the virtual keyboard based on a distance of a continuous slide gesture that starts at an initial position of the initial positions and ends at the initial position.

  • Publication number: 20190041958
Abstract: Examples disclosed herein provide the ability for a computing device to determine a noise threshold to wake on ambient noises. In one example method, the computing device tracks sound, detected by a microphone of the computing device, over a period of time and, based on the sound tracked over the period of time, determines a noise threshold. The computing device tunes a sensitivity of the microphone to wake the computing device when ambient noise, detected by the microphone, is to have a signal strength equal to or exceeding the noise threshold.

  • Publication number: 20180188141
Abstract: An analysis instrument may perform analytical operations on an analyte that is combined with multiple reagents prior to being introduced into a flow cell. The instrument may include a nozzle sipper that aspirates reagents from a recipient, along with an analyte. The reagents may be directed to a volume and may be repeatedly moved into and out of the volume by cycling of a pump. The reagents may be ejected into a destination recipient with the nozzle sipper promoting vorticity in the recipient to enhance mixing. The repeated aspiration and ejection through the nozzle sipper effectively mixes the reagents and the template in an automated or semi-automated fashion.
