  • Patent number: 9924708
Abstract: A game call device which can be tossed from a concealed position. A preferred embodiment includes a flat bottom surface which is weighted such that the device will land against that face. A button located within the flat bottom surface activates the device, turning on a speaker which plays a sound. The sound will typically be the sound of a prey animal, intended to draw a predator animal to the device. Because the device is tossed from a concealed location, the device can be deployed without the user being forced to physically disturb the area where the call is placed, thereby decreasing the likelihood of being detected by the animal.

  • Patent number: 5623110
Abstract: A capo is disclosed that allows a musician to selectively engage any of the strings of a stringed musical instrument that has a neck and fingerboard. Multiple string contacting portions that can slide transversely to the neck of the musical instrument are provided. In addition, the pressure bar that applies pressure to the string contacting portions of the capo can slide transversely to the strings so that when fewer than all of the strings are to be engaged by the capo, it may be possible to remove the capo from the area in which the musician would desire to place the fingers in order to create the desired note. This capo is designed to allow the musician to straddle the capo with the fingers of the hand in order to play any note available on the instrument and to provide maximum flexibility in chord selection.

  • Patent number: 4126408
Abstract: A liquid-fueled lamp comprising a liquid-impervious container, which is preferably a light-weight steel can of the type used to store foods, etc. A relatively small opening is provided in the top of the can, and a tube or some other structural member extends through the opening. The tube is preferably rigidly secured to the container, as by welding or brazing. A metal tube having a 1/4 inch diameter is suitable. A flame-positioning means, such as a "plug" of asbestos fibers, is mounted in the top of the tube. A wick for transferring fuel from within the container to the flame-positioning means is also provided. Preferably, the wick is made of a narrow piece of double-knit polyester material. The wick and the plug of asbestos fibers are mechanically held together by the tube, so that fuel drawn upward by the wick will saturate the asbestos plug. Typically, the wick will furnish more fuel to the asbestos plug than will be consumed by a flame.
