Abstract: A prosthetic limb attachment system, for attaching a residual limb segment having a distal end to a prosthetic limb having a socket having an open proximal end and a closed distal end, using a liner. The liner is made of a flexible material and has an open proximal end, a closed distal end, and liner walls extending therebetween. The liner has a sealing ring extending laterally inwardly from the walls that has a central opening. The liner is turned inside out and the liner walls are rolled up onto the residual limb segment so that the sealing ring may be positioned against the residual limb segment, oriented upwardly thereupon, to create a vacuum seal such that downward forces on the liner will only increase the vacuum seal with the residual limb segment.

Abstract: A system for attaching a prosthetic limb to a residual limb. In embodiments, the system includes a liner having an elastic sleeve adapted to accommodate a residual limb; and a socket adapted to surround the elastic sleeve, the socket having a vacuum port, an inner surface, and a vacuum channel extending radially outward from the inner surface and longitudinally within the socket, the vacuum channel being configured so as to be in fluid communication with the vacuum port when the residual limb and liner are disposed in the socket. In some embodiments the sleeve has an annular groove disposed on an inner surface of the sleeve and a flexible annular seal extending radially inward from an inner surface of the sleeve below the groove, the annular groove being adapted receive at least part of the annular seal when the annular seal is moved toward the interior surface of the sleeve.

Abstract: There is disclosed herein an accessory removably attachable to the underside of a boot of the type which, when worn on the foot of an individual users, locks the users ankle within the boot, whereby the boot's underside is locked in a fixed position relative to the users ankle. The boot accessory includes an accessory body having a top side, an underside and an outer periphery and means for removably attaching the accessory body to the boot so that its top side confronts the boots underside, whereby to cause the user to walk on the underside of the accessory body rather than the boot. At the same time, the accessory body is constructed such that its underside will resiliently deform under the weight of a user without causing its top side to do so.
