  • Patent number: 6471503
Abstract: A rotary disc valve is disclosed which generally includes a housing having an inlet side and an outlet side, and a disc rotatably mounted within the housing between the inlet side and the outlet side thereof. The disc includes an outlet bore which is generally aligned with the axis of rotation of the disc and extends from the outlet face of the disc partially through the disc. One or more inlet bores spaced radially outwardly from the axis of rotation of the disc extend from the inlet face of the disc partially through the disc and communicate with the outlet bore. The inlet bore or bores are located such that a bore may be selectively brought into communication with a single one of inlet side passages by rotating the disc until the bore is aligned with the desired passage. Since the outlet bore and an outlet passage are aligned along the center of rotation of the disc, the outlet bore stays in constant communication with the outlet passage in the outlet side of the housing as the disc is rotated.

  • Patent number: 6126429
Abstract: A position sensing switch combined with a slide retainer for injection molds of the type having at least a portion of the molding cavity formed in slides which are slidingly mounted on one of a pair of mold halves such that the slides advance between open and closed positions laterally relative to the mold halves as the mold halves are similarly advanced between open and closed positions. The slide retainer comprises a locking member, such as a spring loaded plunger secured on the slide, and a receiver, such as a detent formed on a slide plate of the mold half to which the slide is slidably connected. The detent is formed in a cover plate extending over a cavity extending into the slide plate and in which the switch is positioned.

  • Patent number: 5813601
Abstract: A temperature responsive flow control valve has a plunger type actuator positioned in a fluid flow passageway between a valve head and an adjustable abutment member. The actuator includes a canister filled with a heat expansible material which expands upon heating to drive the actuator from the canister so as to engage the valve head and drive it out of seated engagement with a valve seat against the biasing force of a spring. The abutment member is axially adjustable toward and away from the valve seat to adjust the distance therebetween. By adjusting the distance between the abutment member and the valve seat the temperature at which the actuator expands to a sufficient degree to open the valve may be adjusted. A controlled leak through the valve is provided.

  • Patent number: 4637258
Abstract: A movable piston is supported by a flexible angular membrane around the perimeter of the piston in a piston chamber, having opposed walls which confront the opposite faces of the piston. The chamber has low and high pressure sides at said opposite sides of the piston. The potential movement of the piston is limited by contact of the piston face with the chamber wall, with the entire resistance to piston movement beyond the limit point being born by the chamber. The piston controls activation of an electric switch in response to movement of the piston.

  • Patent number: 4323742
Abstract: A switch which is actuated when a preselected fluid pressure differential is exceeded. A piston exposed to the pressure differential carries a plunger which contacts a lever arm mounted on a shaft. A spring normally prevents the shaft from turning but is overcome when an excessive pressure differential is applied across the piston. A switch arm mounted on the shaft actuates the switch in response to turning of the shaft.
