Patent number: 6585454Abstract: An anchoring arrangement is provided for anchoring a dock leg to a bottom of a body of water. A base plate has a lumber or timber receiver on its top surface and has three or more anchor legs that are attached to the base plate and that extend downwardly. At least one of the anchor legs preferably has a fluke pivotally attached to it so that when the anchor leg is pushed downwardly into a bottom of a body of water the fluke pivots into contact with the anchor leg. A subsequent attempt to pull the anchor leg upward causes the fluke to pivot into an extended position in which it provides additional resistance to the upward motion of the anchoring leg. Most small docks have legs made of conventional lumber or timbers large enough to provide a buoyant force adequate to support thsi metal anchoring apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2000Date of Patent: July 1, 2003Inventors: John D. Patent number: 5480372Abstract: The front bag (12) of a supply of bags (12) stored in a magazine (250) is removed by an unloading device (252) including four linkages (254, 256, 258, 260) which are pivoted to attach suction cups (264) thereto. The unloading device (252) inserts the bag (12) between nip rollers (52, 54) including spaced wheels (56, 58) which drive the bag (12) downward until the closed end (20) rests upon an adjustable stop (72). A tucking plate (90) moves from a retracted position to an extended position generally perpendicular to the bag (12) to drive the bag (12) into a slot (46) of a fixture (32), with the bag (12) having a U-shaped configuration around the tucking plate (90). The bag (12) is prevented from moving from the slot (46) with the tucking plate (90) as the tucking plate (90) moves from the extended position to the retracted position by a compression roller (208) pivotable by a cam (214) movable with the tucking plate (90) to sandwich the side edges of the bag (12).Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1993Date of Patent: January 2, 1996Assignee: General Mills, Inc.Inventors: Rodney K. Patent number: 4198543Abstract: A radio receiver is effective to receive a radio frequency signal and derive therefrom a standard stereo composite signal comprising a sum of channels signal having components within a first band of frequencies in the audio range and a difference of channels signal having components within a second band of frequencies above the first band of frequencies. The radio receiver is provided with a low pass filter having a high frequency roll-off characteristic within the first frequency band and a substantially flat attenuated amplitude characteristic across the second frequency band. Linear mixer apparatus mixes filtered and unfiltered stereo composite signals in controlled relative proportion responsive to a control signal to produce a modified stereo composite signal for application to stereo decoder apparatus in order to simultaneously roll-off the high frequencies in each derived channel and to attenuate the difference of channels signal in degree controlled by the control signal.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1979Date of Patent: April 15, 1980Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventors: Burtron D.
