  • Publication number: 20120070628
Abstract: Small geometry images are printed by coating a surface with a first resin and printing the image from ink containing a second resin on the first resin. The first resin and the second resin are characterized by being solvated by the same solvent. The solvent by which both resins are solvated need not be the solvent used in the inks for either layer. The solvent need not be the same for the inks in both layers. It is believed that solvent from a freshly printed second layer is at least slightly absorbed by the first layer, thereby reducing spreading.

  • Patent number: 5598382
Abstract: An EL panel includes a pair of EL lamps on a common substrate, separated by a predetermined distance along a longitudinal axis. A first flexible, electrically conductive trace on the substrate interconnects the front electrodes of the lamps and a second flexible, electrically conductive trace on the substrate interconnects the rear electrodes of the lamps. The lamps share a common front electrode and the first trace overlies the front electrode between the lamps. One of the lamps is rotated relative to the other to position the lamps one above the other in separate, parallel planes.

  • Patent number: 5197410
Abstract: A releasable tether has a release clip with a slide bolt operated by either a cable attached to a remote release trigger or a thumb slide directly attached to the slide bolt. The cable is attached to the slide bolt by a ball bearing swivel to afford unlimited rotation therebetween. A reinforcing cable extends between a frame rotatably attached to the release clip by a hollow connector bolt and an anchor member at the handle end of a strap so that any forces exerted on the strap are taken up by the reinforcing cable and not the release cable or other release elements associated therewith. Protective tubular guides at the tether end and handle end of the strap afford freedom of movement for the release cable.

  • Patent number: 4076789
Abstract: In accordance with a preferred embodiment of this invention, a linear stitching design having improved definition, is embossed onto the surface of a hot, formable plastic sheet and then coated in one operation. The improved definition is achieved by employing a restrained elastomeric anvil to support the sheet during the embossing operation. The elastomeric anvil provides a relatively uniform distribution of pressure on the sheet during the embossing step and urges the sheet into intimate contact with the recessed features on the embossing die surface. Once the sheet is formed but before the embossing die and anvil surface are separated, paint is injected through passages in the embossing die onto the surface of the thermoplastic sheet. The paint is injected under sufficient pressure to force the thermoplastic sheet, which is supported by the elastomeric anvil, away from the die surface; this provides the necessary space to allow the paint to flow onto specified areas of the sheet.
