Publication number: 20230210538Abstract: A bristle device for delivery into a body lumen comprises a longitudinally extending stem 1 and a plurality of bristles extending generally outwardly from the stem for anchoring the device in a body lumen. There may be at least two bristle segments and in some cases there are flexible sections between the segments. The flexible sections articulate to enable the device to pass through a catheter placed in a tortuous anatomy or to be deployed in a curved vessel, or across a bifurcation. In some cases at least some of the bristle segments are spaced-apart to accommodate bending of the bristles.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2022Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: Embo Medical LimitedInventors: Wayne Allen, Colin Forde, Liam Mullins, Paul Gilson, William Sheridan

Publication number: 20230145252Abstract: Disclosed herein are devices and methods for determining the identity of markings on tires. A portable tire scanner can comprise one or more light sources and detector that reflect light off tire markings and capture imagery of them. The scanner is operable to process the imagery to determine the identity of the markings. The marking can be the same color as the area of the tire around the marking (e.g., black-on-black) and the scanner can identify the marking by determining angular edges of the markings. Plural light sources and/or detectors can be used to provide plural perspectives to better determine the edges of the markings. The housing can have a form factor that allows the scanner to be hand-held, such that a user can aim the scanner at tires even while on a vehicle or in hard to reach positions. The scanner can be used to scan and identify several tire marking in succession.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 22, 2021Publication date: May 11, 2023Applicant: Oswego Innovations Two Inc.Inventors: Peter J. Barram, Wayne Allen, Sanjay Gidwani

Publication number: 20160067444Abstract: A catheter includes a shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end and a sheath which extends along the length of the catheter shaft. The sheath includes a compliant material and is expansile for fluid delivery from a distal end of the sheath to the proximal end of the catheter. The sheath is connected to a Luer on the proximal end of the catheter. Upon injection of fluid/particles through the Luer, the sheath expands to provide a temporary lumen which facilitates flow of fluid/particles from the proximal end of the catheter to an opening or opening adjacent to the distal end of the sheath and at or near the distal end of the catheter shaft for delivery of the fluid/particles into the vessel. Upon cessation of injection pressure, the sheath automatically contracts to provide a lower profile to easily accommodate repositioning/removal of the catheter.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2014Publication date: March 10, 2016Applicant: NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF IRELAND, GALWAYInventors: Wayne ALLEN, Mark BRUZZI, Colin FORDE, Liam MULLINS

Patent number: 8621144Abstract: A non-volatile (NV) memory may store hiberfile data before entering a hibernate state, and retrieve the data upon resume from hibernation. The reserve space in the NV memory (i.e., the erased blocks available to be used while in the run-time mode) may be used to store hiberfile data. Further, a write-through cache policy may be used to assure that all of the hiberfile data saved in cache will also be stored on the disk drive during the hibernation, so that if the cache and the disk drive are separated during hibernation, the full correct hiberfile data will still be available for a resume operation.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2008Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Michael K. Eschmann, Wayne Allen

Publication number: 20090327608Abstract: Various embodiments of the invention use a non-volatile (NV) memory to store hiberfile data before entering a hibernate state, and retrieve the data upon resume from hibernation. Unlike conventional systems, the reserve space in the NV memory (i.e., the erased blocks available to be used while in the run-time mode) may be used to store hiberfile data. Further, a write-through cache policy may be used to assure that all of the hiberfile data saved in cache will also be stored on the disk drive during the hibernation, so that if the cache and the disk drive are separated during hibernation, the full correct hiberfile data will still be available for a resume operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2008Publication date: December 31, 2009Inventors: Michael K. Publication number: 20050065915Abstract: A method and system to add protocol support for network traffic tools is described. The method includes querying a file that defines a protocol for which protocol support is to be added to a network traffic tool, determining from the queried file how packets for the protocol are constructed, and building a protocol runtime specification based on how packets for the protocol are constructed.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2003Publication date: March 24, 2005Inventor: Wayne Allen

Publication number: 20030213169Abstract: The invention is a method of protecting a plant from thrips comprising the step of applying silica particles to a plant or a plant's surrounding area, wherein the silica particles are fumed silica particles or silica aerogel particles. The act of protecting a plant from thrips includes eradicating thrips, repelling thrips, preventing thrips infestation, inhibiting thrips feeding, inhibiting thrips egg laying, and/or preventing virus acquisition or transmission by thrips.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 14, 2002Publication date: November 20, 2003Applicant: Her Majesty in Right of Canada as respresented by the Minister of AgricultureInventor: Wayne Allen

Patent number: 4365590Abstract: A ventilated animal cage rack has a hollow housing divided into a plurality of horizontally-disposed shelf compartments separated from each other by partition walls and having front open ends normally closed off by transparent doors which isolate the interiors of the shelf compartments from each other and from the interior of the room containing the cage rack. Each shelf compartment is sized to contain a row of horizontally-spaced animal cages having open top ends and closed bottom ends, with the open top ends spaced well below the ceiling of the shelf compartment. A low pressure air plenum extends vertically along one side of the cage rack and communicates with one side of each of said shelf compartments, the other sides of which contain air inlet openings communicating with the room interior, thereby providing a low-pressure negative air flow along the top open ends of the contained animal cages to said air plenum and then to a room exhaust system.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1981Date of Patent: December 28, 1982Assignee: Lab Products, Inc.Inventors: Albert P.
