Publication number: 20170290663Abstract: Minimally invasive catheters and methods are provided for adjusting the chordae associated with an atrio-ventricular valve. The catheter is adapted to engage a selected chord and draw it into a pair of transversely spaced, receptive clamps at the distal end of the catheter in readiness to be clamped The clamps are part of a prosthetic cord assembly that includes the clamps and a cord attached to each of the clamps. The effective length of a natural chord can be increased by employing a long prosthetic cord and clamping and severing the natural chord between the clamps. The effective length of a chord can be decreased by drawing the natural chord into the distal end of the catheter to a hairpin shape and clamping the legs of the hairpin-restrained chord. The chord need not be severed when its effective length is being reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2016Publication date: October 12, 2017Inventors: Lars Erickson, Wayne Boucher

Patent number: 9319535Abstract: A method of providing enhanced mobile communications services through collecting, analyzing, and utilizing cellular network data is described. The method configures an intelligence engine based on a set of rules. The method receives the set of rules through a user interface or generates the set of rules through performing an analysis on the network data by the intelligence engine. The method receives network data events and correlates the received network data events. The intelligence engine determines an action in response to a correlated network data event. The action includes sending a text message or email containing an offer to a mobile communications services subscriber, or updating a database. The method then performs the action.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2013Date of Patent: April 19, 2016Inventors: Scott Andrew Irwin, John Greer Moore, Robert Wayne Boucher, Michael J. Dimperio, Maria F. Vaughan, Paolo Teotino

Patent number: 8062217Abstract: Disclosed herein are various embodiments that related to a surgical retractor. In certain embodiments, the retractor may include a blade holder with a single blade tilting mechanism capable of adjusting the angle of a plurality of pivoting blades relative to the blade holder. In certain embodiments, the adjustment occurs from the proximal face or top of the retractor. In other embodiments, blade supports are used to couple the blade holder to a variety of removable blades of different lengths. In certain embodiments, the blades may be a translucent material capable of transmitting light from a proximal portion of the blade to a distal portion. In some embodiments, the distance between the blade holder and the removable blades may be adjusted.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2008Date of Patent: November 22, 2011Assignee: Theken Spine, LLCInventors: Wayne Boucher, James Spitler, Noelle Dye

Publication number: 20100063547Abstract: A dynamic motion component for a spinal implant is provided, comprising a first rod coupled to an enclosure and a second end of a second rod captured in a cavity of the enclosure. A dampener unit surrounds a captured portion of the second end and is positioned between the first end and the second end. In response to pivotal or translational movement of the second rod relative to the first rod, the dampener unit is compressed against one or more inner surfaces of the cavity to provide for progressive resistance of movement of the second rod.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2009Publication date: March 11, 2010Inventors: Joshua Morin, Arnold Oyola, Wayne Boucher

Patent number: 4990987Abstract: Semiconductors can be damaged by overheating and to prevent such damage, the present invention utilizes a PTC thermistor which is in a heat sensing relationship with the semiconductor. Such thermistors demonstrate a sharp rise in resistance when the body temperature approaches or reaches the anomaly temperature. Electronic circuitry is designed to be sensitive to the resistance increase of the thermistor (caused by the semiconductor's heating) and shuts off the power to the semiconductor before it overheats.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1986Date of Patent: February 5, 1991Assignee: GTE Products CorporationInventors: R. Patent number: 4329210Abstract: A method of regenerating etchant and recovering etched metals. Etching solution, which is overladen with metal cations is passed through a cation exchange unit. Subsequently, the etching solution, which is diminished in metal cation concentration, is returned to the etcher sump. The cation exchange unit is then rinsed with deionized water to remove residual etching solution, with the effluent being conveyed to a metal recovery unit. The cation exchange unit is then rinsed with an aqueous solution of an acid to remove cations and to regenerate the cation exchange unit. The effluent from this rinsing is also conveyed to the metal recovery unit. The cation exchange unit is then rinsed with deionized water to remove residual acid, with this effluent likewise being conveyed to the metal recovery unit. Subsequently, a selectolyte solution is passed through the cation exchange unit to enhance the cation retention property thereof. The effluent is conveyed to a storage container.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1980Date of Patent: May 11, 1982Assignee: Robert W. BeckerInventors: Vijay Merchant, Stephen R. Henriksen, R.
