  • Publication number: 20070021894
Abstract: A method for starting a work machine includes receiving information corresponding to a current configuration of at least one component of the work machine. The method also includes comparing the received information to information corresponding to a previous configuration of the at least one component. The method further includes providing a data request signal if the received information corresponding to the current configuration of the at least one component is not substantially similar to the information corresponding to the previous configuration of the at least one component. The method also includes providing a start-up signal if the received information is substantially similar to the information corresponding to the previous configuration of the at least one component.

  • Publication number: 20070021895
Abstract: A status monitoring system for a work machine includes at least a first monitoring device coupled to a first component of the work machine and at least a second monitoring device coupled to a second component of the work machine. The status monitoring system also includes at least a first data collection node communicatively coupled to the first monitoring device and at least a second data collection node communicatively coupled to the second monitoring device. A status monitoring system further includes a status collection node in communication with each of the first and second data collection nodes, the status collection node configured to receive information corresponding to an operational status of the first and second components from the first and second data collection nodes and provide information corresponding to an operational status of the first and second components to an external user interface.

  • Publication number: 20070022408
Abstract: A software system development apparatus is provided. The software system development apparatus may include a processor and a computer-readable medium operatively coupled to the processor. The apparatus may also include a system design tool program stored on the computer-readable medium that, when executed by the processor, is operable to regulate user access to at least one aspect of the system design tool according to one or more authorization categories of users of the system design tool. The system design tool may also be operable to generate a real-time embedded control software system by selecting from a collection of reusable software components stored and described in a catalog in accordance with the Reusable Asset Specification (RAS).

  • Publication number: 20070022106
Abstract: A system design environment includes a Reusable Asset Specification (“RAS”) based database including information related to hardware components. The design environment may also include a controller. The controller may be configured to accept a user input including at least one desired system parameter. The controller may also be configured to identify from the RAS based database at least one hardware component that contributes to satisfaction of the desired system parameter. The controller may be further configured to output a specification for a system including the at least one hardware component.
